A doubt a hand phaser would have any kick back like today's firearms do.
Wow actually that’s a good point haha

TOS movies actually didn't do a bad job with diversity. Among Starfleet Captains, two were black (and one of them was female), one was Indian, another Asian, while among the Admirals, another two were black (one of which was the head of Starfleet) and one mentioned had an Asian sounding name (and was also the head of Starfleet). But yeah, TNG to Enterprise Starfleet is largely white American men.Poor diversity among the human crew dates Trek. The novels do a better job.
Although, then you had those silly "bending beams" with the TNG phasers, due mostly to the fact the actors didn't know where they were supposed to be aiming.Well, you don't hold a gun two-handed only to control the recoil, you hold it two-handed to steady your aim so you don't miss.
And for the station, that does work. Unfortunately, the theory falls apart when you notice all the CRT monitors in the runabout cockpit or especially on the bridge of the Defiant. DS9's production people just had a thing for using CRT monitors, clearly.I always thought the abundance of CRT monitors on DS9 were to show how crappy Cardassian technology was compared to the Feddies.
STID is basically a 9/11 Truther's parable. The writers called Vulcan's destruction a "9/11 moment" in interviews, and then mentioned it again when talking about ID. Bob Orci is a huge 9/11 truther.
Well they all have to be available to execute different things at any moment in case of a red alert, wouldn’t that slow them down?Another thing that dates Trek - no seat restraints.
The omnipresence of 4:3 monitors always gets me. I mean sure, in the 80s and 90s most people would give WTF reactions if they were told future TVs would be rectangular, but it makes the shows and movies look very dated all the same.

How would it? The captains spends a lot of time sitting in her chairWell they all have to be available to execute different things at any moment in case of a red alert, wouldn’t that slow them down?

TMP had a seat restraint system, at least on the captain's chair. What happened after TAS?
A squareIf not, what shape were 1990s TVs?
What do you call a square with a horizontal line scanning up or down the screen? I would like a name to describe what I saw for much of my childhood in the 70's. I still have an indentation on the side of my index finger from tweaking the vertical hold knob.A square
Currant modes of transport do - cars, trains, coaches, planesHow does this date Trek? Do current sci-fi space shows depict seat restraints?
