Thieves. How low can they get?

Shit, it wasn't even at a place where a 9/11 plane crashed.

Please do steal pointless memorials, maybe someone will get the idea that they are just lame.

You want to hear something disgusting?

One of my sisters' friend's was killed in Iraq and while his family was at the funeral someone broke into their family's house and stole a coin they gave to the mom after he died. Never recovered it :(

But in good news, they replaced it.

There's low and then there's low:
Texas man has prosthetic leg stolen in Omaha

© 2009 The Associated Press

OMAHA, Neb. — Omaha police are looking for a prosthetic leg stolen from a diabetic Texas man's car.
Police say Stewart Szymczak (SHIM-chuck) of El Paso, Texas, reported the leg stolen Sunday night. Police say someone smashed a window of his car as it sat in a hotel parking lot, taking the leg, a bottle of vanilla, tequila and 12 pairs of shorts.
Szymczak says the $31,000, custom-fit prosthetic replaces one of his legs lost to diabetes in 1998. If there's good news to be had, it's that the prosthetic is a "spare" he carries with him as he travels.

Why exactly would you want an artificial limb that has been custom made--and fit--for someone else?

Who needs twelve pairs of shorts?
Maybe someone that works out every day during the summer? I've seen videos of people that run amazingly well on leg prosthetics with "shins" that resemble a leaf spring. There are also workouts that use other parts of the body (like weight lifting or rowing).

Adding to the list of low down theives: A couple that stole an elaborate childrens' charity donation bin from the local branch of a chain grocery store. Imagine a R2D2 size cylinder with Rube Goldberg style devices designed to be activated by the weight of coins dropped into the top of the bin. The couple struck shortly after the store opened for the morning, grabbing the bin and loading it into a convertable before the store staff could catch them. I never heard what role the store's security camera or finger prints from the recovered bin played in identifying and prosecuting the culprets.
