A robot maid pushing a vacuum cleaner may look cute, but it's a pretty stupid idea. It's a hell of a lot more practical to make the vacuum cleaner ITSELF into a robot.

But then, lots of sci-fi ideas are impractical. That's what makes them fun.

Well, maybe not...but I also would like transporters, I would like time-mashines (but more the way that you cannot be seen by the others in different times, only looking, without changing time), starships able for interstellar star-travel comfortable and fast and those gateways, that the Jem Hadar found for traveling to places within our galaxy..and with them tavelling others galaxies would be great too. And universal translators would be a fine thing to have as well.

James May big ideas did show you a flying car trouble was you had to tow the wings around with you when you where driving and the problem of needing run ways all over the place.
I would like a sonic shower and a replicater.
The trouble with a replicater though is that we would have to invent a EMH because everyone would be on the dole so we could not afford to pay doctors.
