They noticed this NOW?!

Oh, the 70s.

once again the daily fail lives up to the nickname.

I'm just wondering where they plagiarized the story from.[/QUOTE]
It was originally in the Sunday Times, the others are all pick-ups (meaning "Read today's papers and write it up as if it was our story.")

I don't understand how this is even newsworthy, most of the shows made back before the '80s were filled with this kind of stuff, at least here in the US.
I used to watch Get Smart back when they showed it on either MeTV or Cozi, and there was an episode with Native Americans and the whole thing was filled with some of the absolute worst stereotypes. I could not believe how offensive it felt watching it now.

Because people don't understand context or do understand context and still want make a issue out something because I am starting to be convinced a lot of modern online outrage is the modern updating of edgelord mentality for this generation. Remember many of the people who grip about this stuff on Twitter is the same people that lick ice cream and put it back or sneeze on food just to ruin it and go party in Florida during a pandemic. Young people have always been kind of stupid because that's just how it goes when your young but social media has been away for them to get attention far beyond the scope dumb young people the past ever had access to.

If the Beeb really feels that strongly about it, they should just alter the dialogue and cgi the “Chinese” actors. The Talons of Weng Chiang is one of Bakers BEST eps- to see it become an “unepisode” would be very unfortunate.
