And Andorians changing designs in every single series they appeared in (TOS, TMP, TNG, Enterprise, STPicard).
And I don't even think I can recognize a Tellarite anymore.

It's from the trailer. Who died and made you a mod?
It's detachable. They're storing it in Discovery's turbocoaster void, because it's the only space big enough to house it.Does this new Ferengi have the massive cock that Gene envisioned for the species?

It's started a bit of an arms (cocks) race, with the Klingons providing a provisional plus-sized pair of plucky plastic pop-on penises per person to produce a perfect parity of pricks.
I heard the Ferengi in the 32nd century wear TARDIS pants to accommodate their massive package. It's detachable. They're storing it in Discovery's turbocoaster void, because it's the only space big enough to house it.

Yep.I can't be bothered to read up the most recent posts. Shall I take it that there are some people out there outraged, outraged I tell thee, that the Ferengi design isn't exactly the same as thirty years ago or would I be pleasantly surprised?
There is change with reason and that fits with the past and there is change for change sake. I personally think that single Ferengi looks close enough, but the general change of everything from old trek makes Discovery a reboot. Previous Treks managed to revisit the past and old aliens and maintain some consistency or even iron out previous inconsistencies. Discovery started out by making Klingons totally different and then making the Enterprise totally different so those of us who consider it a reboot have just given up even noticing the changes (or watching Discovery at all for that matter). I hope to enjoy Strange New Worlds as a nice reboot of Hunter's time period, but it is a reboot, not part of the same continuity. Continuity requires that designs from the past are followed to some degree. That is why the Enterprise in Trials and Tribbleations was not redesigned and why the Defiant in In A Mirror Darkly was not redesigned. They adhered to continuity like they should. Sure the Klingons in TMP, Romulans in TNG, and the Andorians in Enterprise were a bit off, but not by that much. Most of us chalked it up to inter species variations. But yeah, for something to be in the same continuity, the design does need to be exactly, or as close as possible, to the design from 50 years ago or 30 years ago. That is what continuity is. Prior to this new revival, Star Trek and its fans valued continuity and tried to keep it going. Pardon us for being a bit angry that the new people have thrown out 40 years of continuity out out the window.I can't be bothered to read up the most recent posts. This fan did not. When TOS looks showed up it was treated with a chuckle at the silliness by most of my Trek fan friends. Continuity, for me, is about close enough not precisely recreating this as if its its historical fact. Largely because few Trek fans I knew treated TOS as serious.Star Trek and its fans valued continuity and tried to keep it going.
Wut?Previous Treks managed to revisit the past and old aliens and maintain some consistency or even iron out previous inconsistencies.
Wut?Sure the Klingons in TMP,... were a bit off, but not by that much.

I like the attitude Terence Dicks had when he was in charge of Doctor Who. "Continuity is only whatever I can remember."They adhered to continuity like they should.

Find the outlier...

All these people bitching about slight changes to Ferengi ears while TNG gave the romulans bumpy foreheads, DS9 changed the trill from bumpy foreheads to spots and Voyager changed the Ktarians from bumpy foreheads to horned foreheads.
