Theory About Quinn (Dexter)

Joe Washington

Fleet Captain
Fleet Captain
I just realized something after watching last episode: Quinn is the son of the Trinity killer.

Now hear me on this. Quinn came from a previous family raised by the Trinity killer. Something happened to that family that led to him being taken into foster care and adopted by another family. When the Trinity killings began in Miami, Quinn recognized it as his father’s work from his childhood memories. Quinn becomes very concerned by this development because if the cops do catch the Trinity killer, his arrest would bring up a lot of stuff from his past including the family connection between him and Quinn. The reveal of such a connection would destroy Quinn's career and the life he’s built for himself.

So that’s why he was so against the idea of believing that the Trinity killings are really Trinity killings. But his comments weren’t enough to stop Lundy’s interest. So he tells his reporter girlfriend on purpose about Lundy’s investigation, knowing it would be leaked to the press creating trouble for the police and forcing LaGuerta to severe Lundy’s access to police resources. But Lundy still continued his investigation regardless. With the fear of his secret being found out building on him more and more, Quinn came to a point in which he felt a more drastic measure needed to be taken.

He was the one who shot Deb and killed Lundy. He shot Deb to prevent her from recognizing him and to get her out of the way since he was only there to get rid of Lundy. For a moment, Quinn thought he was free of all of this with Lundy’s murder being pinned as one of the Vacation Murders. But that momentary relief was crushed when Deb shares with him her suspicions that the Trinity killer was the one who shot her. Deb will begin her own investigation into the Trinity killer, whether the police disapprove of it or not. Now Quinn must decide what to do to fix this other than killing Deb.

hmm I like it, just almost seems like something that's way too conveniently contrived or one giant coincidence, something totally out of left field, but you could be on to something

I do think the big cliffhanger for the season though will be Deb finding out about Dexter

Interesting theory. It certainly would explain all the focus on Quinn earlier that never seemed to pay off.

I can't wait to see how this season plays out!

Well I suppose anything is better than being remembered as Chuck Bass' jail baiting Uncle, but it just doesn't seem "there" otherwise they wouldn't have had to had created the dirty cop stealing money side bar for him.

And I noticed Deb is running out of men to play out her daddy issues with.

I'll believe you if he starts dating Deb.

Her cooch is magnetic for man trouble.

I think that would be a little OTT if that theory came true though I still don't buy Lundy being shot by Trinity. Its become quite clear that Trinity only kills 3 times in 3 ways due to his past and his other personality seems well too normal to commit a shooting...

However your theory would be supported by the fact why wasn't Debs killed just wounded seems like the shooter knew how to handle a gun - i.e (A COP).

If MCH is serious about leaving after S5, yeah, that would be good timing. (Damn, does he really have to be so heartless? They could streeeetch this to seven seasons, couldn't they? :rommie:)

I thought they were setting the Deb Finds Out plot up in last night's episode. Deb decides to commit perjury just to get some sense of closure. Dexter can't let her do that, and the only way to stop her is to reveal that he has a very good idea who really did kill Lundy. And from there, it's hard for him to spin a plausible web of lies, why he would know and not say anything immediately. But they seem to have shut that down.

So I'm going back to my original theory: Deb tracks Trinity and murders him in cold blood. Not knowing who to turn to, she calls Dexter (or maybe he's already there, hunting Trinity himself). Dex hides the body and tells Deb not to confess anything. Then Deb has to wonder, how could her brother know immediately how to dispose of a body, and be so calm in that situation?

There's the cliffhanger, not certain knowledge but solid suspicion. Then she starts remembering how convinced Doakes was that Dexter was up to no good...and other stuff...Deb has got to already know on some level.

Or, the cliffhanger is that Rita dies. This would work only if it's established that Dexter has adopted Astor and Cody - if any scene like that pops up, stating the "paperwork has gone thru" or something, it's curtains for Rita. Because then they bring back her mysterious first husband - remember him, why introduce that and drop it - who was the real father of Astor and Cody, and is challenging Dexter for custody in S5.

Or...is Quinn Rita's first husband? :eek::eek::eek:

This is how I think the rest of Season 4 and Season 5 are going to go:

SEASON FOUR: By the end of the second-to-last episode, Trinity brutally kills Rita for some reason. Dexter and the kids finds the body. In the season finale, Dexter consumed by grief guns after Trinity to make him pay for Rita's death. When he finally catches up to Trinity and kills him, Deb is there witnessing the whole thing. At first she is shocked but, believing the bastard deserve it for killing Rita, she decides to help her brother dispose of the body. Like Temis, I too think that the cliffhanger of this season will be Deb suspecting there is more to her brother than meets the eye by the way he found the perfect spot for disposing the body and other things. And I also think that it would be something Quinn says that is going to spark some suspicion about Dexter in LaGuerta since it is clear that he is going on Dexter's case like Doakes.

SEASON FIVE: Dexter is struggling to cope to grips with the tragic new reality that he is a widower and a single parent. He has his hands full with taking care of the kids and work where his co-workers are treating him with kid gloves since Rita's death which he finds increasingly annoying. Deb is helping with taking care of the kids as much as she can while keeping Dexter's murder of Trinity a secret and exploring her suspicions about Dexter's dark side which she met face-to-face last season. If Dexter doesn't have enough on his plate, Rita's mother or Rita's first husband or both are fighting for custody of the kids and Dexter makes a shocking discovery about Astor and Cody's new hobby which reveals that Dexter isn't the only one around here with a Dark Passenger. And LaGuerta is launching a secret investigation into Dexter and his activities.
