The X-Files : Season X (Spoilers!)

A couple of weeks ago, the German synopsis for "My Struggle II" was translated and it has info not included in any US promo material that I've seen.

Warning: it contains a (possibly) huge spoiler for the finale.
Conspiracy theorist Tad O'Malley warns live on TV, that the immune system of all humans has supposedly been shut down, and that a huge disease is coming. Infections start suddenly happening. While Scully is apparently protected through her alien DNA, Mulder is soon fighting for his life. Only the stem cells from their son can help save him. But where can Scully look for the child, seeing how it's living with adoptive parents?

Wow, that is pretty spoilery. If true that does confirm something people have been suspecting for a while.

Wait a minute, so those are an actual mystery? I just assumed they were a bit of old X-Files continuity that I had forgotten or wasn't aware of.

They didn't seem to be the right shape to have been caused by a riding crop (though I wouldn't know), though they were in the right place. If it's a mystery, maybe it's a sign that Mulder has some ominous medical news coming up next week.
Riding crops make quite a variety of marks- it all depends on the angle of impact, force of impact, Part of the crop making contact, position of the body in relation to the crop and even the stiffness of the muscles.
Now I am going to have to watch this episode...

I have no words for this.

I could have sworn Mulder was part alien too. This is so messed up.

I had thought it was supposed to be a hickie.

Let me guess the German translation of this episode: Mein Kampf.

So the mushroom episode was again...okay. They seem to be kind of meandering. Mulder tripping out was funny but completely unrealistic, it didn't even make sense to me. As for the Lone Gunmen appearing...hmm. Not exactly a big role.

I did enjoy the last scene with Mulder and Scully's conversation.

Well that was hilarious. Rhys Darby was great.

"I'm not a reptile. That's racist."

Loving the new X-Files.

With that ending I was expecting to see a surprise announcement over the credits about some secret stash of episodes they are going to surprise us with, or an announcement about a future season or movie. All we got was 'Gotham' promos :(

Yeah. A limited-run miniseries revival, testing the waters for a potential full season run, is not the best place to post half-a-story with a major cliffhanger. I guess if we never hear anything more,
we can just assume that Mulder dies, Scully is abducted (again), and the whole world is killed by the AIV.

Although I feel like watching The Sixth Extinction again, to see how that ties in with the newest revelations.

I feel like I was tricked into watching something. I wonder if it worked and someone made a wheelbarrow full o' cash?

I'm also not feeling so bad we didn't get the third movie after all. So, there's that.

This was an okay episode, a bad season finale, and a terrible series finale. Here's hoping beyond hope that they'll have a better explanation for Monica Reyes if they ever get around to producing another season.

That was horrible. I had low expectations but damn that was horrible.

All I can think of is the season 5 Community finale in which if the show didn't come back the planet was destroyed by a comet and everyone is dead.

I thought that was pretty great up until the ending. I really hate it when a show ends on a big cliffhanger, when there is no certainty there will be more. I actually had the same thought about it being two hours at the end. Maybe they're already working on comics based on this season so they can give us the conclusion there?
