The X-Files : Season X (Spoilers!)

Sorry about that, I always have trouble telling the difference between New Zealand and Australian accents.

They're as different and New Yawk and New Joisey accents - which is to say, only people with those accents can actually tell the difference.

People from New Jersey don't have an accent, the accent associated with New Jersey is actually people from Staten Island.

Nobody thinks they have an accent, but they think everyone else does.
Aussies don't think they have accents, but I'd have an American accent to them.

I was born in Washington State, when I moved down to Texas I was told I had a Northern accent. Someone will always have an accent to you if they don't sound like you.

I have and I didn't put it together it was the same guy.

It's been a long time since I saw the show so I wasn't sure if it was him or not. I did suspect it though.

I actually felt like this episode would have fit in perfectly with Season 7. That's when we got a lot of silly concept episodes like 'X-Cops' or 'Hollywood A.D.'

My sister was born in NJ and moved to South Carolina. After 20 years, she has enough of a southern accent that she sounds, to me, like she's from down there. But the locals can tell she ain't. During one visit to SC, my wife and I were ordering at a diner, and the manager recognized our accents as northern NJ, because he himself was from Hackensack!

Our family dinners used to be quite multi-accented when I was a child. Mom's mother and grandfather were Scottish immigrants, Moms' father was from Brooklyn and she herself was born in da Bronx. Dad's side was strictly New Jersey going all the way back to the Dutch and English settlers.

Last night's SNL had a sketch that ominously transformed into an X-Files commercial. Hopefully they'll release it online.

Speaking of online releases: during half-time for the Superbowl tonight, Fox is releasing footage from the season 10 finale, "My Struggle II," on Fox.com, Hulu, Facebook, Twitter, etc.

It's supposed to be available exclusively for the duration of the half-time intermission and then removed.

Wow. Thanks for the heads up! That's a lame move. Since a lot of people watch the half-time show and don't go online. How long do those performances last?

The clip is now up.

Nice symmetry with the first "My Struggle" episode, with a recap of the series from Scully's POV.

I was hoping Scully would get a meatier role in the finale then she did in the premiere and that looks to be the case.

When I heard about the X-Files series revival, I was skeptical but hopeful. I missed the 1st episode, but have seen the last 3.

Overall, I'm disappointed. I don't see the original energy that Scully or Mulder used to have... like they're just tired of doing this. The pace of the episodes is slow. Sometimes painfully. I just don't feel "drawn in". With only 2 more episodes to go, I can't see them making any more. It's sad, because I have a feeling there's good potential here. It may be the limits of the directors... Was the first episode better?

This was probably my least favorite one so far. The stuff with Scully was nice, but The Trashman stuff wasn't really all that interesting.
I do have to wonder now if they're going somewhere with all of this William stuff. I figured that was just a one off thing after the other episode, but now after another episode dealing him I can't help but wonder if he's going to end up important to one of the next episodes.
