The Star Trek franchise has introduced us to many non-terrestrial species. Some of them were mainstays, others only briefly glimpsed. Some were ethereal beings beyond human comprehension, others looked like us but with bumpy foreheads.

. They served an eco-plot purpose but never felt anything for them other than being predictable rubber-faced alien-of-the-week. The Hierarchy run a very close second. VOY sadly had some of the worst aliens as the premise of the show inevitably meant they were trying to come up with new, interesting aliens-of-the-week in the writers room, which probably explains why they ended up falling back on the Borg. But - there were a few gems in there; the Vaadwaur, Kobali and others .
