Based on the celebrated comic book arc, The Wolverine finds Logan, the eternal warrior and outsider, in Japan. There, samurai steel will clash with adamantium claw as Logan confronts a mysterious figure from his past in an epic battle that will leave him forever changed.

THERE IS A POST CREDITS SCENE! I've heard it is awesome, whatever it is, so make sure you stay to catch it. Really looking forward to seeing this in the next few days.

There is a movie coming out next year with the same character. I am guessing the post credit scene ties into it.

Got tickets so a buddy of mine & I can see it Thursday night. Too bad he prefers the 2D, though.

I'll have to see it in 3D later...

Are Thursday night showings a general thing?

My local theater does not seem to be advertising Thursday showtimes.

Many recent blockbuster movies have had their first showings on Thursday night. It really started taking off after TDKR.

There are already few theaters in my city that will be showing this movie at 10M on Thursday, more will probably start advertising it the closer we get to the release date.

Spoiler alert: It's a masked Deadpool, voiced by Ryan Reynolds, walking out of a Man of Steel screening and saying, "Well, that blew chunks."

uhm....yeah, they are. And not just in big cities, either.

I was able to go to see Fast Five and the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean at midnight shows in Cleburne & Stepheville when they first came out.

The big change I've noticed is that "midnight" openings are happenin' earlier - last week, Red 2's first show was at 7:30 Thursday night. And most of the other big movies have opened around 9:30 or 10 on Thursdays this summer.

I meant for this film specifically.

The thing is, the website I was looking at didn't display any times before Friday, and if you put in a request to search Thursday times you just got kicked out of Safari.

Looks like I'm the first to see it on trekbbs!

Went last night as it was opening night here in NZ

Was a good movie, 7/10. The thing is it seemed more like a movie that was made because it HAD to be, rather than someone came up with a great story.

The action scenes were very good, Jackman was solid as Wolverine as he usually is. The setting was fun, and there are some nice nods to the other X men movies.

The villains are fairly weak in my opinion, but that's ok.

It's way better than origins at least.

Also stay for the post credits scene, it's got some familiar faces and sets up the next X men movie

Wow.

Very, VERY cool. As if I weren't already looking forward to DoFP.

The already circulating rumors already mentioned Xavier, but I wasn't expecting Magneto as well. This also resolves both the "Xavier lives" tease and the "Magneto gets his powers back" tease from the end of X3.

It proves Days of Future Past is a direct sequel to the Last Stand. They are not pretending it did not happen. Its possible history will be forever changed at the end though. But it would have been foolish to completely ignore it. Most in the audience who saw it would be baffled

I feel faked out on the rating.

Remember way back when there were hints this might be released with a hard R rating?

And then the TV ads said "this film is not yet rated". What a tease.

But in the end we all knew what was going to happen.

Gotta get those tweenie butts in seats.

I want to see people sliced into quivering gobbets of flesh, god damn it.
