The Witcher - Netflix

It's card to say at this point how far they will go into the books. I have 3 episodes to go for season 4 and they seem to be on track for Baptism of Fire with Geralt and Ciri's storylines. Yennefer's story seemed to be condensed or maybe I'm remembering it differently, but I thought she was missing for most of that book (maybe longer) and the reason for her disappearance was given to another character in the show; in essence their stories were swapped.

Of course they also added in a bunch of the war/politics and revealed some secrets from later books. And a big battle was moved forward to this season too I think.

Yennifer was supposed to have gone missing after the attack on the Wizard's gathering I thought. (Yeah I can't remember the name of the place.)

Ya I remember it similar to that too. I don't remember her being in Baptism of Fire and I think Tower of Swallows, maybe more. But they did use the same "trap" trick but changed it to Francesca (another character who is barely in the books and they made into a more prominent character in the show).

Is this supposed to be a spoiler-free thread? - this is spoilerish...

Finished the final eps last night and it definitely ended better than it started. We're just getting to care more about the characters as they open up to each other and then some leave and then the season ends. But the bridge battle was even better and bigger than I imagined it from the book. I think the monster was added? And Queen Meve didn't sound very queen-ish, the way she talked and with her missing teeth. I imagined that scene being more serious, only to end with Geralt's realization that he's fucked.

After the initial shock of seeing Liam as Geralt I got used to it and it didn't bother me. He doesn't seem as emotionless as before, a bit higher voice, less grunting, which can also be chalked up to character growth.

The only parts I didn't like was Ciri's story with the rats. Seemed to drag and only got good right near the end.

Thanks for the info. It sounds like a mash up of the next two books with, of course, the producer's idea of Game of Thrones tossed into the mix. I thought there were only five seasons planned, which doesn't seem like enough time to tell the rest of the story unless the final novel is truncated, which will probably be the case.

Is it me, or does Liam Hemsworth have a bit of a lisp? His vocal rendition of Geralt isn't half as bad as I expected. Watching the new season, I couldn't help but notice how he enunciates. "There are tholdiers, up on the hill. Jathker." I wonder if he has some oral appliance.
