The Wire - no spoilers!

Yeah, I watched those two. They were fine.

A couple of thoughts just lately -

- McNulty and House - both driven to jobs that appear to be about helping people, but really just both of them hate to lose, and want to prove their superiority?

- In the scene where Bodie and Poot kill Wallace, Poot seems to push Bodie over the edge. Is this because Poot knows he was there when Wallace ID'ed Omar's boy? That Poot is worried that he's next, if Wallace talks?

Anybody seen Treme or Generation Kill? Are they any good?

What am I going to watch next?
As Alan Moore said,
So yeah, everything else looks pretty lame next to The Wire.

It is never said. My take Poot was just more willing to stay in the game and do what had to be done. In later shows while Bodie occasionally got into firefights and ordered violence Poot was just sales and not muscle Poot had to do it even though he lived with Wallace while Bodie had risen to their immediate supervisor. It was like WeeBay explaining to Namod that if he went into The Game then total commitment was necessary.

When Poot made his season 5 cameo in the shoe store my thought was " what about Wallace", Poot never paid for the murder. He survived Snoop tartgeting his corner and served 15 months for selling but he got away with murder.

Before watching season 5, remember to watch The Wire Prequels. They're not in any way important to the story, but they're kinda fun and were put up on HBO's website before season 5 aired.

Ehh... they were fine. Always nice to get a little more Bunk and McNulty, and the kid playing Prop Joe was great.

Also listen to Bunk's commentary on episode 5-1. if not the first time through before you return the DVD if rented.
Just finished it. It was alright. It's fun to hear Bunk reminisce, (and to not actually be Bunk!). Some cute bits, but not really driving me to listen to all of them. I think I'll watch the pilot commentary, and the Dominic West/Michael Williams one, and if they aren't more entertaining, I'll shelve it for a while.

So I've watched the Youtube clips of the season finale montages, and now all those songs are on my Ipod. They aren't really my kind of music, but I feel so cool wandering around my hood, listening to the Wire montage music...
