The WIKIPEDIA game! --Find something new!

What's Bacon's connection to Christian Slater?
There's a link to Slater on Bacon's Wikipedia page, which counts as one step (see above).
Ahh, didn't notice that. Slater was originally my choice for a connection, too, before I remembered Clint Howard in Apollo 13.

Slater was in Murder in the First with Bacon.

But yes all that it needs is a Wiki link on that page - I was just typing in a hurry so didn't provide references - sorry.

CONNECTIONS! My dad used to make me watch that show all the time! It was only the documentary I was forced to watch I didn't actively hate :p

The interesting thing is that sometimes you're not sure if it works in the reverse way - while James T KIrk is linked to on the Typecasting page, typecasting is not linked to on the James T Kirk page.

Similarly, Kevin Bacon does link to Typecasting as an offhand linked comment (Wiki has a habit of doing that), but the Typecasting page has no links back to Kevin Bacon.

That sort of one-way linking thing makes the game VERY interesting. :bolian:

I like where you guys have gone with this. Keven Bacon to USS Enterprise... clever :). I'm not sure if anybody is beating 4 links though-- oh, and no editing wikipedia and creating new links... this is cheating ;)

I got it to THREE! (sorta, if you don't count a disambiguation page)

Kevin Bacon

Self-destructive (choosing self-destruct from the disambiguation)

USS Enterprise NCC-1701, linked in the examples.

:D

Nice try (and a smart piece of thinking!) - but really, self-destruct is another link clicked so it counts as four.

I'm going to declare Zion Ravescene the winner for the first person to get to four. :techman:

Pick a new challenge Zion!

OK, so let's try something else:

Start from USS Enterprise (NCC-1701)
and end up with Mornington Crescent (game)

(I managed 5 steps... how do you manage?)

Wouldn't it be more amusing (and, arguably, more of a challenge) to find something so obviously wrong that it had to have been a deliberate attempt to "vandalize" an article?

The funniest I ever saw was the main article about black holes, where every instance of the letters L and R was replaced with the letter W. :guffaw:

Honestly, I don't have that much time to devote to looking at wiki.

Going to bed now - shall try Enterprise to Mornington Crescent over breakfast :)

It's definitely crawling today!

And I'm stumped.

I can get from Mornington Crescent (game) to USS Enterprise, but it's much more complicated the other way around!

I'll keep working on it :)

I haven't managed less than nine!

Enterprise
Washington,_D.C.
Miles_Davis
Trumpeter
List_of_trumpeters
List_of_jazz_trumpeters
Humphrey_Lyttelton
I'm_Sorry_I_Haven't_a_Clue
Mornington Crescent (game)

I'm sure I'm missing an obvious connection somewhere - so hopefully someone else will be inspired!
