I don't particularly like Whisky but if I have to drink it neat then I'll have one of the lighter Speyside types rather than the peaty/smoky Islay styles. The only times I drink it are when it's all that's on offer, or someone insists, and that's usually if I'm at the home of someone who likes their Whisky so there's always a range to choose from.
I don't drink it often enough to have a favourite (wine is much more my thing). I suppose one I can recall that was fine was an old Balvenie of some description. IIRC, honey on the nose, with strong vanilla and candied fruit notes, with a long but not too hot finish.
