So, I've watched the first couple eps of How To Get Away With Murder. Does it get any better? I don't know if I can commit to a full season of douchey lawyer wannabes and skanky associates.


Also, Still Game is still one of the funniest Brit comedies, and there's a good chance it'll make a comeback. Most of all series seem to be up on YT.


That said, not sure about Citizen Khan, which I liken to a Pakistani Alf Garnett in modern England. It has some funny points, but seems abit obvious at times. I guess it should be encouraged to make teh Mooslems less scary, and reveal that, yes, they are us, just a little different. I'm hanging out for a Brit-Pakistani Young Ones.

How to get away with Murder doesn't get any better or worse. If you don't like it now, you're not going to like it when you get to the end. Season one finished the other day. 15 episodes. Can you handle 10 more hours?

What I don't like about Citizen Khan is that it could have been made in the 70s. If it had been made back then, the series would be genius on level with Open all Hours. yes it is amusing, but it's like explaining comedy in small words slowly to dumb children. Although I do smirk when ever Mr. Khan makes a remark about redheads.

I thought I'd finished Girlfriends Guide to Divorce a week ago, but I missed a fucker and it didn't discontribute to the integrity of the story at all. I kinda wish that the producers had had the balls to pull that house off it's stilts and watch it fall down their cliff face to complete the metaphor for Cuddy's life.

Yeah, that's it, if made in the 70s we'd be hailing it as a masterwork. That's why I'm hoping we can progress quickly through the tropes to something more modern. Imagine a Pakistani Spaced!

Ever watched Still Game? I relate to it I guess because the characters are older and Scottish, and I get a huge laugh out of it. There's a thing on YT called the Still Game Story, a BBC special on the series, you could try that, as some of the clips they include are a good starting point.

I have Still Game on a hard drive filed away for a rainy weekend that will probably never come.

Mr Khan finished season 3 a few months ago.

It is what it is.

Making the show better will probably alienate it's audience.

I just got caught up on Project Runway: All Stars final. I've always like Dmitry but I actually didn't like his final collection. I actually preferred Sonjias and thought she should have won. In fact I liked Helens collection over Dmitrys, but I guess YMMV.

Great idea for a thread, Australis!

I've been half-heartily watching King of the Nerds this season, but it's been a pretty crummy cast this year. Any cast member that became remotely interesting was quickly ejected from the show (the big shrill guy or that tall guy who looked like Daniel Tosh auditioning for the role of Napoleon Dynamite). Also, their theatrical delight at receiving Little Caeser's $5 pizzas for meals is being delivered with far too much gusto.

A show that's really grown on me this season is Stalker. Some of the most gripping teases on current TV happen at the beginning of each episode -- footsteps from the roof of a bus, the beautiful wedding ceremony that ends in a headshot, the endless terror of anonymous text messages! The stories of the week are suspenseful and well-made, if a bit overly-complex at times. The attractive main cast all hail from Dullsville, USA but they keep the stories moving without too much extraneous editorializing.

Stalker has consistently won its timeslot in the demo, so of course CBS is probably going to cancel the show if CSI: Cyber pulls in even a fraction of Stalker's numbers.

On one hand, I can definitely afford to lose a TV show this year with my DVR full-to-bursting and SO much other good stuff on the air.

On the other hand, I do enjoy Stalker despite it being the TV equivalent of junk food and it always bothers me when a show is axed not for poor ratings, but because of ulterior reasons (the series is produced by a rival studio, the exec that originally greenlit the show was removed, the network faces contractual penalties if certain series aren't renewed so another show must be cancelled to make room on the schedule, etc.)

I'm not technically watching it since I just changed the channel, but am I the only person who thinks that the new Odd Couple with Matthew Perry as Oscar isn't remotely funny or interesting? That was my impression when they first started showing commercials for it, and it seems like the commercials weren't lying.

I hope L&O:SVU has more crossovers with Chicago PD. The tension between Benson and Voight...you could cut it with a knife.

Me, too.

The theme of parents/children this season has really generated some interesting storylines; from the possible conscription of their daughter, to the manipulation/seduction of that young girl (at times, very difficult to watch) just to gain access to her father's home.

The two leads are incredible.

Only watched it cos I like Lennie James and he's keeping busy between filming walking dead stuff with this. The episode I saw was pretty gripping stuff but the hospital was like it was set on a space ship (So white and lens flarey)

Critical is extreme, but if each episode is in real time, it's going to carry odd continuity if days or weeks are missing between surgeries.

A show that doesn't have an active thread that I've been sort of casually half-watching this season is Forever, as I leave it on in the background after AoS/AC. I tend to not pay too much attention during the homicide investigation stuff (which is a dime a dozen on TV these days), but look up and watch during the personal stuff and flashbacks.

Good question. This thread is more about casually what you've seen on TV in passing that you either liked or not, where the what are you watching thread is more videos as well, which you've made a deliberate effort to get. Well, that's how it is in my mind.

Just found on YT the full version of 'Still Game Live', 2.5 hours. It's utterly hilarious.
