The Walking Dead Season 5

And why does it not need to be shown on TV but other displays of affection and the blood and mutilation of bodies (both living and dead) is okay to show on TV?

If Eric had been a woman named Erica and Aaron still ran in there and hugged and kissed her, would that have been excessive and not important to the story? Would we even be having this ridiculous discussion?

Yeah, controversy about homosexuality in 2015. Just shows how far we still have to go. But the thought that actually occurred to me was that these guys missed out on the legalization of marriage thanks to the Zombie Apocalypse.

This was an interesting episode. Rick's incessant paranoia versus the new guy's almost creepy niceness. I don't read the comics, so I have no idea what this Alexandria arc is about, but both of these guys seemed sincere enough. From the previews, it almost seems like the compound is deserted when they get inside, so maybe something happened while they were away.

The whole zombie horde sequence, beginning with Glen plowing through them on the highway and through the fight in the woods, was harrowing. I hope Flare Zombie gets an Emmy. :rommie:

It was completely unnecessary. Homosexuality put in there just because it is homosexuality. The gay agenda strikes again.
Gay people exist, grow up.

I don't care whether gay people exist before or after the zombie apocalypse, that is not my point.

My point is that it it doesn't need to be shown on TV and is unnecessary to the storyline.

Clearly Brent got a tingle in his no-no zone when those guys kissed, and now he doesn't know how to deal with it.

I find it odd that some people are more repulsed by two dudes kissing than some of the gory stuff. It either tells us that we are way too sheltered from sexuality, or way too desensitized by violence.

I think it's both...

...and that Twitter pic is a good indicator that I may be right. How warped do you have to be to think it's okay to let kids watch "The Walking Dead" and then turn around and get pissed off when gay characters are introduced? FFS is right, Beagleman!

The worst-possible thing that could have been legally shown on TV was killing the zombified Sophia while her Mom was watching.

Anything else pales in my opinion. The non-issue of a homosexual relationship isn't even in the same universe.

Brent surley the same could be said of Hetrosexual relationships? The only people who have a problem with Gay relationships being shown on TV are

HOMOPHOBES and Sir you are one of them, shame on you.

It really does make you wonder if that attitude comes from a joke or simply insanity.

Saw the same thing with Gays introduced on Soap Operas. The objectors couldn't come up with an answer as to why Adultery, Lieing, Cheating, Murder, Drug Use, Alcoholism, Porno, etc were all OK for their children, but, somehow a loving Gay couple a "Sin" too far

I think the sisters last season actually goes just a little bit further, but, yea, Sophia was about as bad as it can get.

I agree, but as I recall the 'putting down' of the other sister wasn't explicitly shown on screen.

(seeing her covered in her sister's blood was horrible though)

Who are you to tell me that my opinion on homosexuals in The Walking Dead is wrong.

You have your opinion, I have mine. Both of us are entitled to that opinion. Name calling and labeling is uncalled for, I have not done so to you or anyone here.

The characters are gay in the comics, so they didn't just make them gay on the show for no reason. It's a direct adaptation of existing characters.

You clearly have no issue with straight couples on the show, and I'm betting you're not averse to a bit of girl on girl action, so why does two guys kissing make you so uncomfortable?

I bet if I changed one word of your post that you would find the implications completely different and be upset that I'm casting you as a bigot.

I don't care whether black people exist before or after the zombie apocalypse, that is not my point.

My point is that it it doesn't need to be shown on TV and is unnecessary to the storyline.
Substitute whatever group you like.

There is no difference whatsoever between that and what you're doing with gays, yet you've got this denialism built up in your mind that this is some kind of special situation and you're not just hating people for who they are. It's bigotry, plain and simple, and if you were alive in the 60s you would be saying the above. Or before that saying it about women. But instead of learning from the mistakes of the past, people like you just keep on making new mistakes.

So go ahead and keep believing your backwards thoughts, but don't expect the rest of the world to keep falling behind with you.

Who are you to tell me that my opinion on homosexuals in The Walking Dead is wrong.

People who believe in respect and equality.

Name calling and labeling is uncalled for, I have not done so to you or anyone here.

You've said that gay people should not even be acknowledged to exist on TV and that they have a conspiratorial "agenda," so spare us the phony calls for civility. You're not being civil at all.

Opinions can be wrong, that's why they aren't called facts.

Your opinion doesn't deserve respect or consideration just because it's your opinion. Your opinion is wrong.
