The Vulcan Neck Pinch...

EEE

Captain
Captain
...is highly overrated and is at least equaled by the Kirk Chop (tm) in my book. The best thing about the Kirk Chop (tm) is that it can be learned by anyone willing to wear red tights to learn it! You don't have to be an elitist Vulcan to subdue your enemies with a single move! The Vulcans have downplayed this simple truth to keep the emotional humans in their place. No more I tell you! Stop worshipping the neck pinch, and buy some red tights today!

This message has been brought to you be The Let's Put The Kirk Chop (tm) Into Our Starfleet Curriculum Commitee inc.

i may be wrong but wasn't it invented by nimoy because he thought that a vulcan wouldn't resort to violence? I thought that was sort of ironic considering the vulcans are actually very violent.

Sounds like I can pencil you in on the Let's Put The Kirk Chop (tm) Into Our Starfleet Curriculum petition! Please sign here...

Now c'mon, let's be serious here (*grin*)... I mean Archer was from a parallel universe for chrissakes! (I know that for a fact as proven by being the only way I could see him was to realize that!)

Yes, the nerve pinch was devised by Nimoy because he did not wish to "kayo"* Kirk's double in "The Enemy Within."

Sir Rhosis

*Contrary to popular belief, writer Richard Matheson never called for Spock to "phaser-whip" or conk Kirk's double over the head with a phaser in his script. He only says that Spock jumps out from behind a column in engineering and "kayos the double."

You see? Do you see the insidiousness of the Vulcan conspiracy to suppress our inate ability to use The Kirk Chop (tm)? They don't want anyone to know the truth on any level! Yes, my fellow humanoids! We all possess the ability to supress our enemies without phasers! We don't have to rely on Vulcans to protect us!

Don't forget that we did see Archer use the Flying Two-Footed Kick from the Future on Silik in "Shockwave - Part 2". Even Kirk only did it from right over there, right now -- not all the way from the 31st century.

The legend is that during production of The Enemy Within Nimoy was supposed to pistol whip (or punch or something) the angry! Kirk, but he insisted on an alternative means of decapacitation (is that a word?) because he thought Vulcan's should have a more refined way of knocking a dude out.

And I think it's funny that the example from The Man Trap has been chosen as proof that Spock is violent - he was punching her as a demonstration that she could not be human so Bones would shoot her. Oddly enough, it really was the logical thing to do!

thanks for the info. For a second i thought it read decapitation but i think you meant to say incapacitation ;)

haha...yeah...pretty big brainfart there. I don't know how I decided decapacitate is a word but incapacitate isn't. :bolian:

Yeah, I got yer Self-Inflicted-Flying-Turnbuckle-Smash(tm) right here! *grin* the

Would the Kirk Chop (tm) work against Gary Seven?
If it did, that would PROVE the superiority of the Kirk Chop (tm) over the wimpy elve's pinching thing.

I just find it hilarious to see Mr. non-violence pounding double axe handles into an old lady, logical or not

About a decade or so ago there was a band called "The Ugly Americans" with a catchy little tune on their CD called "Vulcan Death Grip". ;)

Oh and:
