The Vampire Diaries

It will be real interesting seeing Nina Dobrev handle playing Katherine & Elena in the present together.

And yes Othello she would. :D

I will be watching the season premiere tonight...hopefully you will be too. :)

8PM EDT on The CW. :bolian:

[UPDATE] Watched it...was hoping for more...pretty interesting though...next week actually looks better. :bolian:

I enjoyed the S2 opener. One thing that surprises me about VD is that it definitely isn't afraid to throw a twist or two in there and it can be refreshingly dark for a supposedly teenybopper show. Just when I was thinking they were going to make Damian a wuss he does something very reckless, selfish, hateful, and totally unexpected at the end that gets him right back where he needs to be.

So far I think ND is handling both Katherine and Elena's parts well. Katherine also made her presence felt in the opener. I thought the show was dragging a bit until the end with the final acts of Damian and Katherine, and I'm sure the repercussions will be felt throughout the season.

Also, got a feeling that werewolves are coming to Mystic Falls.

I am usually impressed with Dobrev & Somerhalder and they were great...I was more so impressed with Paul Wesley and Stefan is getting tougher. :)

Don't know how this thing with Caroline will play out though. The werewolves will be interesting...not crazy about Tyler though.

I wish they would kill Jeremy already...he is the weakest link.

I also opened the season premiere. And I have to say all three main cast members usually do pretty well. And yeah, I was hoping Jeremy would actually die. :p

Representin' for the Jeremy/Steven McQueen fans - I was terrified they'd actually gone and killed Jeremy off to let him go have a movie career or something! Kid is mega-talented - and seems to have buffed up about 25 pounds of muscle over the summer. LOL

Good ep though!

The whole doppleganger definitely kept me on my toes. Every time Elena appeared, I found myself squinting at her suspiciously, just in case.

They can probably speed up the werewolf plot, though. We all know where they're going so let's get on with it. Why drag out the revelation?

CW The Vampire Diaries (premiere) 18-49 Rating 1.6, 18-49 Share 5, Viewers Live+SD (Millions) 3.275

Outside of the NFL universe, the CW’s Vampire Diaries second season premiere scored a 1.6 adults 18-49 rating (that’s down 24% from the series premiere last year). While the series premiere of Nikita drew a 1.4 adults 18-49 rating, that’s identical to Supernatural’s season premiere in that timeslot last season.
In the youth demos that the CW focuses on Vampire Diaries scored a 2.8 rating for women 18-34 down 7% from last year’s series premiere, and a 1.9 for adults 18-34 (down 14%). Nikita scored a 1.9 for women 18-34 (up 12% from last season’s Supernatural premiere) and a 1.3 for adults 18-34 (down 13% from Supernatural).
My guess is that the CW’s emotions are mixed. They have to be reasonably happy with the Nikita numbers, but they cannot be happy with the Vampire Diaries numbers.

That's not good. :(

They did really well to distinguish the two, kept Elena with her straight hair and lighter colours while Katherine wore black and had wavy hair.

Episode #2.2: "Brave New World"

THE CARNIVAL FROM HELL — When a confused and desperate Caroline (Candice Accola) leaves the hospital and joins her friends at the Mystic Falls Carnival, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) wants to take immediate action, but Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) come to Caroline’s defense. Matt (Zach Roerig) is completely mystified by Caroline’s behavior, but still tries to tell her about his feelings for her. Damon has suspicions about Tyler’s Uncle Mason (guest star Taylor Kinney) and uses Tyler’s (Michael Trevino) volatile personality in an attempt to get Mason to reveal his secret. Upset with everything going on around her, Bonnie (Katerina Graham) takes her anger out on Damon. Posted at VampireSite.net - please link to the source. Steven R. McQueen also stars. John Dahl directed the episode written by Brian Young (#202).

This should be fun. :)

Tonight was good...actually enjoyed it more than the premiere...next week looks good too.

Caroline as a vamp? I approve! :bolian: I wish they would have kept Vicky too. :(

I marathoned the first season on dvd. I really love this show and its strong writing. It started out weak, but the writing really improved as it went on, becoming even better than Supernatural's fifth season.

My favorite character was Anna, the cute vampire girl.

This week's episode.

Caroline is really great as a vampire. I hope she sticks around as the main female vampire for the rest of the series. This show needs more badass women.

The werewolf storyline looks interesting. I have a feeling this show will do a much better job at handling werewolves than Twilight and True Blood.

Yeah, I am liking Caroline more after that ep...I haven't read the books but Elena has a close friend named "Meredith"...I am wondering if they are setting this up...Caroline becoming a vamp & all the witch Drama with Bonnie?
