The US Postal Service

The box was pretty well scuffed. I mean, it really did sound like he threw it, not just dropped it. As for the packaging it was a little lackluster. But really, with the way the cup was nested the only way it chipped was with a really strong hit on one specific side. I had to put real effort into recreating the movement where the measuring glass would slide out of the protective metal cup. But yeah, considering they sell and mail this stuff for a living I thought a layer of bubble wrap around the product box would be in order...

And what do you mean he doesn't know what's in the box? Big red sticker that says fragile. Return address of some restaurant and bar supply company. I don't think this one required amazing powers of deduction!

Your postman was just the last of many people to handle the box and the only one who might be confronted by an angry customer. At every other stop along the way to your house it was thrown, in fact that is what distribution clerks call the process, throwing parcels. Even if one clerk saw the fragile label and gently placed the piece in a bin the other clerks threw pieces with or without a fragile label on top of it. IT is Just the nature of things, your package has to survive the possiblity of a 70 lb package being thrown on top of it.

Yeah, but it certainly sounded like he went to the extra effort of slamming it into the concrete. At least the 70 lb package that lands on top of it has some give to it.
