The unnecessary reboot/remake of the week thread

Do sequels or prequels count here? There is to be another Predator movie from the maker of Prey, but it doesn’t appear to be a direct sequel.

Meanwhile HBO is planning another Game of Thrones prequel, this time back to Aegon’s conquest of Westeros https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/t...ff-aegons-conquest-mattson-tomlin-1235792104/

Here I thought studios were giving up on cinematic universe and then they go and try to start one around Predator.

Another series set in the world of Sherlock Holmes has been ordered. The CW is making Sherlock & Daughter, with David Thewlis as Holmes. Dougray Scott is Moriarty.

David Katzenberg is onboard to direct "Sam and Victor's Day Off," about the two valets who took Cameron's father's Ferrari for a joy ride.

The Dead Zone and American Psycho are getting remade. Only in this Dead Zone, when the presidential candidate does something cowardly that puts other lives in danger, his supporters double down on how he's the second coming of Jesus.

That original ending now looks so quaint

First look at the new version of The Crow, with Bill Skaarsgard looking pretty unrecognisable. They’ve quite impressively managed to make him look consistent with the comic’s version of Eric but very distinct from Brandon Lee’s version. I was quite obsessed with the original for a period in my early 20s and once was very protective of the idea of any remaking it, but I’m somewhat intrigued to see what this take is like and pleased to see much respect for Lee from the makers

Also - as I didn’t want to be the third consecutive post - Guy Ritchie is to direct a spinoff from Ray Donovan, written by Ronan Bennett. Not a combination I would’ve expected.
