Yeah, 20+ years ago when TNG first came out. Since then it's devolved into "If we can depolarize the main deflector array with a phased graviton pulse, it might trigger a cascade reaction in the subspace aperture that will allow us to escape!"

Yeah I'd like to see them pull off something similar to TMP. This crew (actors) pulled off fast paced action really well though, so I expect they'll stick with that style. I just hope a little more thought put into the plot and story.

I just get the hero vibe from every main character in Star Wars. When watching ToS, the main characters outside of Kirk and Spock don't give me that vibe.
To compare it to nuBSG, they remind me of the Callie and Duck and Racetrack type characters.
I don't know if that makes sense but I'm have a hard time figuring out how to explain it differently.
