FWIW, JJ. 2 words "Pearl Habor". My goodness, let's take one of the most tragic events in US history and turn it into some sappy, badly acted love triangle with Kate Beckinsdale, Ben Affleck in his douchey phase, and Josh Hartnett.
If JJ says no, who do you think Paramount will call?
A whole lot of people other than Bay.
Nice try, though.
If this poll is anything remotely 'ultimate', the rest of my decisions in life should prove simple enough.
...they won´t call Meyer, Frakes, Carson or Nimoy. Not even Stuart Baird will get a call.
You have to let go of the old Trek.
I wonder what happened to Jeffrey Abrams, the guy who wrote Regarding Henry and Forever Young. JJ Abrams must be his evil twin brother.

That makes no sense.I love the fact that Michael Bay would turn even the detractors of Nutrek into fans of the new movies
Another reason for Bay as director!

Not so much.. If anything this film was closer to TOS in terms of the action and adventure, while the theme was just a more generic kind of thing rather than a Star Trek thing. It can be more like Star Wars and still be good though. The movie was definitely better than any of the prequel movies for sure. And it does seem closer to original Star Wars than any Trek in terms of themes and its largely fantastical approach.

Actually, I'm imagining the movie "Armageddon" converted into a Star Trek movie with an only slightly different plot.J.J. Abrams. Why is this even a question? Bay would be utter shit for Star Trek.
If JJ says no, who do you think Paramount will call? Bay, of course, since he´s the golden boy of the studio. Just imagine faster cuts, even sexier alien babes and lots of jokes that many will find offensive.

Well, you might want to consider something.
Get out your torches and pitchforks, but some folks, like myself....HATE Star Wars...both old and new. And I hate how Star Wars is THE STANDARD on how ALL sci-fi, past and present, is to be judged.
I wanna see "To Boldy Go Where No One Has Gone Before" and not large scale battles and explosions all the time.
Like Picard once asked, "Remember when we used to be explorers?" I want to see the exploration return, instead of dealing with another villain.
They say Star Trek is like classical music, while Star Wars is rock and roll. Some of us want to see that classical music stay alive.
Am I the only one who feels the same about this?![]()
