From TrekMovie.com:

NEWS: TYPHON PACT CONTINUES IN 2012
The Star Trek: Typhon Pact series will continue in 2012 with the release of two mass market paperback novels by David R. George III. "Star Trek: The Typhon Pact: Plagues of Night" comes out on or around May 29, 2012 and "Star Trek: The Typhon Pact: Raise the Dawn" should be out around June 26, 2012.
George posted some hints about the two books on his Facebook page....

Both titles can be pre-ordered at Amazon:

  • May 2012: Star Trek: The Typhon Pact: Plagues of Night
    ir
  • June 2012: Star Trek: The Typhon Pact: Raise the Dawn
Hmm...this should prove most...fascinating. :vulcan:

Indeed? My apologies, Doctor...fixed!

However, considering the different original topic...I'd wager these novels-to-come warrant their own thread for discussion--for those who hadn't been following the "Prophet's Door" thread....

Are they?

In other words..."At The Prophet's Door" was a working title, I suppose?

(Looking at the thread...I'd wager he changed it, so as to avoid "expectations" concerning the Prophets....)

@Rush: According to a Facebook comment by DRG III At the Prophet's Door and the other title (which escapes me at the moment) were just placeholders to write into the contract (so that they didn't had to write George TNG Book 1 or something like that) and were chosen before the details of the story were even decided on.

I wonder if DRG III will make them take down the direct quotes from his Facebook like he does with "normal" people quoting him.

Hmm...well, if he does, he has his work cut out for him. I got that from TrekMovie, as I said. He'd have to have them do it, too, not just the BBS....

Just to be on the safe side...I'll remove that part--readers can see it on that site.

Simon and Schuster have provided a solicitation cover for the second book, Raise the Dawn. Obviously not the final version, as it has the old series title, Chain of Destiny. I like the layout. Does anyone know anything about the happenings on the cover? Is that supposed to be on the Alpha Quadrant terminus of the wormhole, or in the Gamma Quadrant?

If that's representative of the events in it, then I'd guess that it's meant to be the Gamma terminus. Why build a whole new station when they already have DS9 right there on the Alpha side?

Of course, it's just as likely to be a complete stand in cover and have no actual resemblence to the events in the actual book.

That's an interesting cover. The station is a mix of various Starfleet station elements from TMP Centroplex, TMP drydock, and some later designs; and not only do you have a classic workbee of the sort in use from TMP through the DS9 4th-season credits, but down at the bottom is Andrew Probert's Sphinx, an unused design for a 24th-century replacement for the workbee.

Interesting do those big orbital stations have warp drive, or will they build the new one in systym?

Very nice! I hope this does mean they're building a station on the Gamma side. Can't wait to read it and find out.

Very cool cover. I hope it is the designed used for the cover. It would certainly be interesting if the Federation did set up a permanent presence in the Gamma Quadrant. If that is what's going on here, I wonder if it would serve as an additional setting for the DS9 books, or if it will be a setting for a new series?

Should prove interesting--if that IS the Bajoran Wormhole...I suppose this means we'll see more of the folks still on the station...?

Personally, I am itching for a follow-up to Zero Sum Game. The sooner that cliffhanger is followed up on, the better.
