The Transformers (G1)

The animated movie I watch once or twice a year and I LOVE that. In fact it's better than the live action sequel, Revenge of the Fallen.

That's like saying "I love The Empire Strikes Back. In fact it's even better than Battlefield Earth"

One of the things I find funny about "Megatron's Master Plan" is that it's a good example of when part of the story element is just bonkers. The fairly corrupt politician who winds up helping the Decepticons recently lost a mayoral election, and yet he somehow has his own little army/security force of tanks and such! He promises at the end to disband this little army, which makes one wonder what the heck goes on in the G1 universe. :D

I love the animated movie and still get sad when Ironhide gets it. He was my favorite next to Optimus. But my favorite part in the movie was when Starscream got it!

"Megatron, is that you?"

"Here's a hint!" BOOM!

"Will anyone else attempt to fill his shoes?"

Leonard Nimoy was so badass...

@ Unicron: The Japanese did work on the thing, so it made perfect sense to them. You should watch "Ouran High School Host Club," where CEOs in trouble have their own private police force.

Finished my 'rewatch'. Lots of fun.

Might have to try and watch the series at some point.

Have got twin sons now so when they get older they're gonna need to watch some decent tv shows...

Well, I recently completed my collection of it on DVD last year. Haven't gotten around to watching it yet though.

The movie is also a masterpiece, I have that as well.

Nah ... it's more like saying, "I love The Empire Strikes Back. In fact it's even better than Attack of the Clones."

No, it's like saying "I love The Empire Strikes Back. It's even better than inserting a red-hot poker into your own rectum."

Ah ... so it was a red-hot poker then.

EDIT:
Seriously, though, I'd much rather spend my time watching the worst G1 episodes than going back and rewatching either live-action film.

It's a while since I've seen it, but wasn't he some kind of evil corporate media billionaire as well as an aspiring politician? In all fictional worlds, evil corporate billionaires always have a private army.

I always found it funny that Teletran 1 was in charge of the flight of the Autobot shuttle. Once the shuttle was destroyed, Cosmos was still being controlled by Teletran 1??

I thought the "City of Steel" episode was extremely poor for a G-1 episode. The art and animation is very substandard for the show. I like the Optigator in the sewer concept and Devastator climbing the Empire State Building like King Kong, but the whole thing looks like it was done by a different company.

Anyone who is so impotently and pathetically butthurt as to say, "(so and so) raped my childhood," is a worthless piece of shit who doesn't have an opinion worth listening to.

Anyway, on topic, my favorite episode of the G1 series is Dark Awakening.
