I used to post here regularly, years and years ago, then stopped until Discovery. Part of it was because I could only talk about the same stuff related to Star Trek so much but also because life had changed.
I've been involved with several independent films over the past four years. He's a partial list of my credits on IMDB. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm5569526/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1
It's not up on IMDB yet but this film, "What's In a Fortune?" is my directorial debut. I came up with the idea in January 2015. It's about a college student who decides to make it his New Year's Resolution to live his life off of whatever the fortune cookie says. At first it seems like a really good idea, from his point of view, but then it goes really, really bad.
How can it not with fortunes like "The heart is filled when the purse is emptied" or "You will marry the man or woman you love" when he hasn't even asked her out yet.
We shot this from April to June 2016, and I just finished editing the trailer. I hope you enjoy it! I'm planning to do a complete festival tour in 2017 before making the film available to the general public in 2018. It's a half-hour but the trailer itself is only 90 seconds.
I don't know if this is the right forum, but the mods can move it -- or do whatever -- if they need to. Right now, I'm just really excited that I got this off the ground and want it to gain as much exposure as possible.
