The top 35 moments in Star Trek history

I found this "Top 35 moments in Star Trek history" article and it's pretty good. Even if you have a different list, the moments listed are fun to read or watch and reminisce.

http://www.geek.com/geek-cetera/top-star-trek-moments-1611810/

Beware that the writer is obviously a hopeless optimist, giving one of his 35 spots to Tom Paris in "Threshold." That's probably #1 on many Bottom 35 lists, but you can't deny it certainly is memorable. So I suppose "moments" as they appear to be defined in the article can include the good, bad, or ugly.

Moments, naturally, are highly subjective but in the author's list, I do appreciate his explanations why they are in his list.

Plus it's got glaring errors in it- number 23: Kirk shouting “KHAN” because Spock is dead

Must be a different movie to what I saw.

Another attention-seeking journalist designed a list to incite nerd hatred and angry replies? Pass.

Here's let me do another version:

5) Encounter At Farpoint
4) All Good Things
3) Worf boards DS9
2) Kirk Meets Edith Keeler
1) Enterprise finale.

Let me add some:
*Kirk meeting the Enterprise again in TMP.
*The Reliant/Enterprise space battle in TWOK.
*The large gathering of ships in DS9's "Sacrifice of Angels."
*The DS9 crew mingling with the TOS crew in "Trials and Tribble-ations."
*Kirk and crew meeting the Enterprise-A in TVH.
*Kirk and McCoy meeting the Enterprise in Trek 2009.
*Kirk and Sulu battling Romulans on the mining platform in 2009.
*The Mirror Enterprise crew from ENT in future TOS uniforms and future vessel, meeting the Gorn and Tholian villians.
*Admiral McCoy meeting Data. (Already mentioned).
*Ending credits/music to Trek 2009.
*Opening sequence to Trek 2009.
*Opening sequence to STID. (Yes, even though I'm not a fan of the movie, I did like the opening).
*Geordi kissing his 'dream' version of Leah Brahms.
*Hoshi Sato kissing Travis Mayweather and taking control as Empress of the Mirror Universe Empire.
*Uhura in that Mirror Universe outfit...and Spock in his Mirror Universe beard and outfit.

I'm sure there are more...

:scream: This is an outrage. Why isn't my favorite series represented more? :scream:

22. Spock shouting “KHAN” because Kirk is dead

LOL. Shatner's "Restaurant Enterprise" would be a better choice.

I stopped reading when he listed Threshold.

Edit: Eww, he listed Spock's KHAAAAN too?

This seems like a list of 'Trek moments we most wish we could forget'. What's #1, 'Tasha kidnapped in Code of Honor'? 'Voyager crew becomes obsessed with holographic Irish village'? 'Riker relives Trip's death on the holodeck'?

What is this guy's favorite Star Wars moment of all time? Let me guess, 'Chewbacca celebrates Christmas'. No, no. 'Jar Jar falls down'. 'Anakin explains to Padme how she is like sand'.

1. Kirk stops McCoy from saving Edith Keeler in The City on the Edge of Forever.
2. Picard's "Let's make sure that history never forgets...the name...Enterprise" from Yesterday's Enterprise.
3. Riker, Troi and LaForge explaining to Zefram Cochrane how his first warp flight will be a pivotal moment in earth's history in First Contact.

21. Sisko decloaking the USS Defiant for the first time

... and the USS Sao Paulo gains a cloaking device and is recommissioned the USS Defiant.
Correct me, but the original Defiant wasn't renamed from another ship, that was the replacement that came after the original was destroyed.

2.

There aren’t a lot of time travel episodes that interact directly with Earth ...
Huh?

Okay a list like this is going to be subjective, but a lot of his facts and quotes are off.

:)

Correct.

It's the same as what I said about the Playboy article guy. This author has just the same (lack) of credibility.

People can argue he at least put the effort in, but really copy/pasting images and writing out some short blurbs isn't a lot of work. The real work is the research, which clearly this guy did none.

If I had to pick a top 35 moments in ST, I think I would tend to lean more towards taht defined ST.

Guys.

GUYS.

GUYS!!!!

Don't you know that these lists are DESIGNED to piss you off?

We went over this in the 70 Episode ranking a few days ago.

Attention-seeking writer makes list, and balances status-quo with controversial choices to piss off the fans and get them to tell OTHER fans to click into their site.

It's an attention-grabbing scheme.

I know it's all click-bait. That's the problem with it. As I said in the other thread, it's no more relevant then if someone here made a similar thread topic except that it's meant to make money.

At least when print does articles/lists like these they're (usually) done by consensus.

It would appear to help fund this site as well for each forum thread page load to read and reply. ;)

The author's facts were indeed quite off, but I enjoyed reading the blurbs and watching the videos nonetheless because I was amused at how unable he was to find the negative in anything, especially "Threshold." I think my fav pick was Picard blasting Wesley. Not because it's Wesley, but for taking a stand on responsibility and accountability in these days where self esteem is more important than the truth.

I knew there was trouble when the author stated that "Encounter at Farpoint" was incredible, but when he said it was the best hailed as one of the episodes of all Trek? Uhhh... what?

Granted, there were some good "moments" listed, but some were daft (Janeway and the fear clown? Paris and warp 10?)

See, had the article been most "memorable" moments in Star Trek, then I'd totally agree with the "Threshold" thing. It may have been terrible, but it's definitely memorable.
