The TNG Quiz

The correct answer is Worf, who had his birth father, Mogh mentioned many times, but whose birth mother was never mentioned nor shown by name

All TNG principle characters who've ever had parents mentioned by name

Will Riker - Mother Betty
Beverly Crusher - Father Paul Howard, Mother Isabel Howard
Ro Laren - Father Ro Gale, Mother Ro Talia

In which episodes of TNG were these established? I don't recall any of them being mentioned in the series or films, which is the body of knowledge this "game" is limited to.

Except for Riker, they are briefly glimpsed in Conundrum and in The Next Phase. That is according to Memory Alpha, but the two episodes did show lots of information for those with good eyes or a good DVD player.

Right. Beverly's & Ro's appear in crew manifest files. A file was done for Riker too, but actually got cut out of the scene. However it is still listed in the Star Trek Encyclopedia. So technically, someone could have answered him, because of his mom too

Okay:

"Shades of Gray" is 45 minutes, 28 seconds long (in NTSC). To the nearest minute, how much of the episode is devoted to recycled clips? Not including the main or end titles.

I'm not sadistic. You don't have to watch the entire episode with a stopwatch or anything... just make a guess. Whoever comes the closest first without overestimating wins.

Just shy of 20 minutes, out of a near 43 minutes of actual screen time, & probably another 10 or 15 of Troi & Pulaski muttering about level settings, blah blah blah. It's sadistic enough that I had to watch it :p

I'll use the skills I learned from watching The Price is Right and say 21 minutes.

So i guess we find out at 5:05AM who's right and if my Price is Right strategy worked?

By my count, you both slightly overestimated. As I said, whoever guesses to the closest minute without going over gets to ask the next question.

The answer I was looking for was 19 minutes (18:55). Mojochi came the closest, and he actually watched the episode, so it's only fair he get to ask the next question. ;)

Well it's been over 24 hours so, if no one minds, I'll ask the next question. In the poker game shown in The Best of Both Worlds, what cards- including suit - did Riker have?

Oops, sorry I forgot to check back yesterday

But the right answer for this question is 7,8,9, & 10 of hearts, & a busted straight with the 2 of spades

Correct.

Your turn.

Name all the real world literary or dramatic characters that Data has performed as an actor. I can think of 4, & a bonus 5th. I hope I haven't forgotten any :p

Sherlock Holmes, Friar Tuck, Prospero, and Henry the Fifth.

...The only fifth one I can think of is fake Data playing one of the Three Musketeers. :)

Sherlock Holmes, Prospero, Henry the Fifth & Ebeneezer Scrooge was the correct answer

I discount Friar Tuck, because he wasn't acting the part, he was just dressed as it, (Not even sure he's a literary or dramatic character, more like folklore) & the Musketeer wasn't even Data

No one will get the bonus one. It was Data playing Puck from A Midsummer Night's Dream In "Time's Arrow" "Come fairies! Whither wander you?"

Gonna give this one to Doubleohfive :techman:

See, and I was stumpped because I couldn't recall if Gates sat at the Conn in "Remember Me"... I remember her hanging from it...

What was Marc Alaimo's first line of dialogue as a character in TNG?
