Spoilers The thing in bay 12

My headcanon there is that the 2371 bridge in Generations was destroyed, but the previous 2365-2370 bridge module was just sitting around in storage somewhere, so Geordi just tracked it down and reinstalled it. Hell, it might have been in the Starfleet Museum anyway.

Yeah, that ain't gonna buff out.

Chewie we're home.
Y'know I always wondered if Trek could have pulled of a similar scene. I now know they can.

Here's a side-by-side comparison. They're darn close, but the deflector dish is slightly off. Too squared.

Sorry, but image tags don't seem to be working...
Something about the CGI models is that they never seemed to be able to quite pull of the look of 6ft model's deflector. The CGI model from TNG remastered comes the closest though.

I don't know why I'm so giddy over seeing some of the crash damage still on the saucer.
It also appeared to me like the saucer is slightly off-color from the rest of the ship. Like it still has the paint job that was given to the 6ft model in Generations. Nice touch if that's really the case.

It is a slightly different tone and color in addition to the damage, which is nice considering the new Enterprise D is an amalgamation of both the Enterprise D and the Syracuse

Its not CG.
Your image is still a screen cap of a CG model. CBS couldn't find the original film negative of this shot, so they had to recreate it in CG.

The digital model of the Enterprise used by CBD Digital is not the same as the one of HTV illuminate in TNG-R: "Where Silence Has Lease". It is not so "flat". Also, in "The Enemy" the probe exhaust illuminates the Enterprise's hull.
