The Sun strikes again (possible spoilers for final special)

I'd be cool seeing all the companions in a hallucination kind of thing. But that's about it. Ditto for The Master.

As for Rose....liked here in S1, S2....not as much. Too knowing and aware for having traveled with the Doctor for so short a time. As for her final ending......well I just rewatched the entire nuWho run and I didn't get the whole Rose-10 "love that was meant to be" thing. She fell in love with 9 and kept that love into 10's turn. Ditto for the part where she thought 10 was about to regenerate and said something like "You can't change, I crossed worlds and it'd all be for nothing." or words to that effect.

Kinda showed Rose up to be somewhat shallow to me. He changed once and you still loved the Person he was, not the shell...but now she's teary eyed because he's about to change again?

Also, not sure how much she'll love Doctor Two since he's half human and has no Tardis to whisk her away across time and space on fantastic adventures. He's basically a regular joe who has to get a job somewhere, work 9-5, etc. Just can't see that working out.

River Song? She really didn't seem any more special than the other companions....even so, I do like the rumour that Tennet will appear older (pretty clever IMO) as I would like the River Song story to feel complete. Her dialog seemed to indicate an older Tennet....not a regenerated Doctor. I didn't want that story screwed just because the producer and lead actor decided to move on.

I can see the Doctor, having just sent River on her way (mention it in dialog) to be a little more reckless in his actions and needing to be regenerated because of said recklessness.

I wouldn't mind seeing Marthy, Mickey or Captain Jack in the finale but I don't want to see Rose or Donna, their storylines are over.

Mmmm, I don't know about this. I'd love to see Donna again (the fate she was dealt with, she deserved better), but the others..? Stick a fork in them, they're done. John Simm returning as The Master, I suppose if he doesn't fucking dance I'll be fine with it, but I'd rather Jacobi.

But shouldn't River Song be in Who by the last special, if she is Ten's Wife????

^ I was unaware that (possibly) being the Doctor's wife meant that you had to show up at his regeneration.

^Well no, but I always thought she was Tennant's wife... plus I vaugely remembering hearing that she would be present for the 10/11 regeneration.

She was the Doctor's wife...for all we know her first date was with the 12th Doc, her wedding was to the 11th and well obviously her final date was with the 10th. Why can't people get their heads around this...wibbly wobbly timey wimey

People throwing the words "was" around a lot in this thread.

We don't know what River was to The Doctor, possibily his wife, but then again from what we've seen from Steven Moffat in the episodes he's written, why should we think that? He always throws us off at every oppertunity, and as he wrote the episode with River, and now he's going to be the head writer, theres always a chance that he'll bring her back.

For all we know, the Tenth Doctor could meet up with the Eleventh Doctor in an episode this series, maybe the Eleventh Doctor takes himself to see River in the future because he never got to meet her in that incarnation.

Obviously I'm being skeptical, but it's no more skeptical than she's his wife. She could be a Time Lord, or even a family member.

Okay, if Rose comes back, I'm done with Who until the Tennant leaves.

I've had quite enough of that spoiled selfish cow.

I'd go further and say after the last special whatever occurs and however good it is I'm not going to watch another new episode with Tennant as Doctor.

Dangerous talk if there's ever a multi-Doc story in the future

I wouldn't be surprised if the rumor is true.

I don't expect much from Davies anymore, especially when it comes to his "epic" finales. I guess he couldn't figure out how to work in any other villains from the past or from the Time War, so he's just going to retread one of his own retreads rather than come up with something genuinely new and original.

I can't wait for Moffat's take.

Ahh.. but he won't be the MAIN Doctor ;)

Well apparently, the new specials are going to be a completely new enemy, which lets face it, somehow a Dalek is going to get in there somehow.

they could be from Skaros twin planet Clump ;)

I have a crazy idea for a Doctor Who epsiode, the Doctor lands in Kansas America, just before some meteorite from a planet destroy by war are about to hit, after helping the residents take shelter reading some Superman comics whilst (lets set it in the 50s) they wait for the meteorites to hit.

after they do the Doctor goes out to check things are safe, and takes a young comic book nerd with him, they find a small ship has crashed to Earth, the Doctor takes it back to the TARDIS but his new companion is convinced that the baby is Superman come to earth, the Doctor runs test and is not so sure.

The Doctor declares it safe to open the ship and takes the baby out, the baby starts to show some signs of super strenght that only makes his new companion more convinced that the baby is Superman, the Doctor says he should the keep the baby in the TARDIS for tests, but the companion snatches him and takes him outside, where the baby dies due to not being able to cope with the sun light, the Doctor says something about humans being blundering apes, and how the kid just killed not only a baby but the last of its species.

oh now I think about it, this is a crazy idea, and no way would the show allow that ending to happen.

I just liked the idea of the Doctor being part of Supermans back story and how he came to earth, whilst the fans start wondering "hang on isnt this the story of Superman"

The residents of the street where Donna's (or rather Sylvia's) house is have apparently been told that the BBC will be shooting there the week after next and have been asked to help out by putting up any Christmas decorations they have.
