The Sun in The Eleventh Hour (Spoilers)

Candlelight

Just noticed this on a rewatch. The Doctor said it looked different because the Atraxi had just put a shield up around the Earth. I don't believe him.

Also, I'm fairly confident Prisoner Zero is the Big Bad for next season. The dialogue and the last line spoken by Prisoner Zero before being taken by the Atraxi points to this.

Maybe next season we'll see how he/she/it becomes a prisoner. And who they were psychically linked with to generate their form.

Can anyone explain though; how did the Atraxi get into the crack? The eye was on the far side. Admittedly I missed part of the season so I don't fully know how the cracks work.

On rare occasion, rather than just eating things, the cracks will join two areas of space and time. That was the case with the Crack in Amelia's room after it'd had it's fill of her family, and the fish-people in "Vampires in Venice" also travelled to Earth via crack.

that's cuz the second one's the exploding TARDIS!

Yep, the image from Eleventh Hour is Sol, the image from Big Bang is the exploding TARDIS. Candlelight, you are just making links where none exist.

^ Maybe, but what else are we supposed to do until Christmas?

I quite like this link, but it doesn't work sadly. The Big Bang is in a different universe to the rest of the series.

I suppose, if that actually was the exploding TARDIS in "The Eleventh Hour", that it could be effect preceding cause. It might explain the duck pond with no ducks after all.

Er... thanks?

No it isn't. The 'correct' universe only restored itself at the end when Amy's parents et al returned. Right from the start of Season 5, Amy had no parents.

EDIT: Oh wait, I see which 'universe' you're talking about now. :)

Sorry to break up the conspiracy theories, but it just seems to be Moffat saving pennies on special effects. After all, it is cheaper to use the same type of effect in two different episodes. It is also why we have so many human-looking monsters with weird mouths (Prisoner Zero in Eleventh Hour, the Eknodine plant-mouths in Amy's Choice and possibly some of the vampire-fish in Vampires in Venice).

Do you have a source for that? Because it's such a significant thing. Why mention the sun looking different at all in TEH if it wasn't related?
