I was just looking up The Struggle Within and was pleased to find Simon and Schuster have posted a cover:

Well, pleased as you can be with the Typhon Pact cover design at least... It's a shame the opportunity wasn't taken to show us one of the new TNG book-only characters too.

However, I'm still really looking forward to this, but am struggling to find listings for it. It will only be my second ebook purchase, and I think I want to get it in the kindle format (as I imagine if I ever get an ebook reader I might get a kindle), but it doesn't seem to show up in searches on Amazon.com or uk.

I can understand the marketing reasons for focusing exclusively on the Enterprise-centric plot in the cover art and blurb, since the other plot focuses on two book-only characters and a book-only species. Still, I agree it would've been nice to see a rendering of Jasminder or T'Ryssa. And getting to see a Kinshaya would've been really cool too.

Fingers crossed for an eventual Jasminder/T'Ryssa/Kinshaya cover from Cross Cult some day!

That's the only thing that has consistantly disapointed me since the Mission Gamma covers, the lack of new characters on the covers.
Wait, we did get Ree on a Titan cover, but I think he was the last books-only character to appear on a cover.

Aili Lavena was on "Over a Torrent Sea".

I can't vouch for the UK site but on Amazon.com it's really easy to find. Just type The Struggle Within in the search bar and it's the first thing that comes up. I'll attach the link below in case you still can't find it for some reason.

I've been able to get to that page on Amazon.com, because I managed to find it at some point and have a link to it on my blog I can find it through. But when I do a search on Amazon it doesn't show up at all; I get nine titles for "The Struggle Within" on the kindle store search, and not one of them has a Star Trek in front. Similarly the ISBN Simon and Schuster list doesn't seem to get me anywhere. I find it very odd, considering the release isn't that far away.

Lucky we have the Star Trek Magazine occasionally filling the void with the illustrations they make to go with the excerpts.

I've seen worse covers, it does continue the theme of the previous Typhon Pact novels.

Unfortunately I now have Metallica's song of the same name stuck in my head.

I saw it on my facebook feed just now, my first thoughts were that it was shite, on closer inspection, it follows the theme of the other Typhon Pact novels and thus my original, somewhat knee jerk reaction, stands.

Good thing books aren't judged by their covers!

Odd, when I search for "The Struggle Within" in the .com kindle store the book is the first one listed. :shrug:http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_n...&field-keywords="The+Struggle+Within"&x=0&y=0

That's odd. I just tried an Amazon search for "the struggle within," and my e-book is the first result. (EDIT: There's an echo in here! Hello...hello...hello...!)

Unfortunately I now have Metallica's song of the same name stuck in my head.

Oh, dear. If I'd known there was a heavy metal song by that title, I would've come up with something else. (Well, I did come up with something else. I still think of it as The Courage of Conscience, a title that got shot down as not intense enough. And I made a bunch of other suggestions, but TSW was the best of the ones that didn't get rejected.)

Oh I like Metallica, not as heavy as I did 20 years ago when the song came out, I just didn't have it handy to listen to so it would go away.

I like the other title thou if you were going to pick a song title (which I know you weren't going for) you should have gone with 25 Or 6 To 4 to really make them go wtf. (Not funny but love the song)

Great, Amazon is conspiring against me it seems! It shows up on Amazon.de no problem, all the other amazons though I get nothing. I've searched logged in and not, on different browsers; so odd!

You really can't blame them for wanting to put the most recognisable faces on the cover that they have available to them.

As I said regarding the Seize the Fire cover, they put Tuvok there even though he didn't have a large role in the story, simply in the hopes that people who have no idea what Star Trek: Titan is would say, "Oh look! That book has a guy from TNG and a guy from VOY on it. I like both of those. Maybe I should buy that!"

Obviously, you wouldn't get that with T'Ryssa or a Kinshaya.
