The Strain (Guillermo del Toro's New FX Summer Show)

I kind of liked The Master. He wasn't anything mind blowing from design perspective, but I can see an evolution from drone to Eichorst smart vamp to Master.

I laughed at The Master. They would have been much better off never showing just what he looked like. The tentacled monstrosity in my imagination was leagues more scary than the embarrassing cartoon character they went with. I seriously thought I was watching a live adaptation of some monster of the week from The Real Ghostbusters. Hell, episodes of Face Off have had better realized designs.

I had been wondering how exactly this clearly unstoppable plague was going to, you know, be stopped, short of nuking NYC. Good to know staking The Master will magically put paid to the bajillion worms spreading through the population and the entire city underground.

Now that the Bloodpack from Blade 2 have shown up to start policing the vampire ranks, I expect the daywalking Blade equivalent was the unmasked creeper who did all the talking. So that's inventive. Wait, didn't Blade 2 also have face-splitting tentacle monster vampires and a gross-out autopsy to reveal their messed up biology?

Guillermo, buddy, maybe come up with something a little more original than ripping off your own stuff from last decade. Hold on. You didn't have input on The Master's design did you? Nevermind. You can stop coming up with original ideas.

It's a race between The Strain and Under the Dome for most entertaining sci-fi comedy on my DVR.

They needed to show the master because these are many masters and they can't all be cowled.

This one is a complete asshole.

The Master in Charge of America probably lives under the White House and eats interns for breakfast.

The Master believes in Astrology because he is an old fool.

It's wasn't a tactical advantage for his children, he just thought it was the universe speaking to him.

Finally Eph's ex-wife's annoying friend Diane is dead.

To be fair, she had good reasons for siding with her friend and giving Eph a hard time--and not just because she caught Eph and Nora fooling around in Kelly's bedroom.

Remember, we've never actually seen Eph at his worst, when he had a drinking problem and was cheating on his wife. We've only seen the Eph who has turned things around (sorta) and is trying to be a good dad. We kinda have to take that he used to be a lousy husband on faith . . . but Diane didn't.

When some one works a 100 hour week, and sleeps for 50 hours and then gets stringent threats about consequences if they do not pay attention to their spouse at home going insane cleaning up after indignant bitchy children...

Most of that 100 hour week is probably spent travelling and he's also paid to sleep in crappy motels, actually Eph was probably being paid by the CDC to be a good soldier while he was fornicating with his mistress assistant.

You know who you are going to marry when you get married.

If you are disconnected with reality, maybe your plan all along was to divorce at the right point and take more than half, or maybe that's just a solution you come up with once you figure out that you are not happy and a better spouse is just around the corner who will also be liquidated in short order once they prove themselves to be insufficient to your needs.

Eph couldn't work drunk, and his off time was so tiny he hardly had time to get drunk, gods forbid have access to the time to do any real damage to his family as a drunk in the pitiful 18 hours a week that he is not working or sleeping.

I wasn't think that exactly, but I was wondering if she was going to be a smart vampire. I don't think we've seen any other vampires meeting with The Master after being turned.
I'm glad that they already know who is responsible for the Vampire plauge, instead of spending forever with them trying to figure out who it was.
