The Starship Valiant got rebuilt quick

Noticed as Jean Luc was running for dear life from Shinzon that the battle group on the other side of the NZ had a ship named USS Valiant. Wonder if it was Defiant class

Frankly if I were in command I would have sent Valiant in to Romulan space by its lonesome, if it were commanded by more Red Squad pricks.

52 torpedo launchers-no prob
redundant shielding-piece of cake
impenetrable cloak-like fallin' off a log for RED SQUAD!

A replacement Valiant was built no quicker then some of the replacement Enterprises.

It got rebuilt EXTREMELY quick. Sisko commanded it during the Battle of Chin'toka.

(The model wasn't restored properly and the Defiant appears, briefly, with the registry information of the Valiant).

I am sure that the name was slapped onto another Defiant class hul or a newly built vessel of another class.

There weren' that many pieces to put back together after the Jem Hadar were done with those nitwits of Red Squad.

Sisko commanded the Sao Paulo.

Red Squad Capt. Douche' Bag commanded the ill-fated Valiant against the Jem Heavy BattleShip

You want to re-read nx1701g's post.

Yeah I was referring to the Battle of Chin'toka depicted in Tears of the Prophets, not The Changing Face of Evil nor the battles in What You Leave Behind.

Since Valiant was destroyed, could another class ship have been named Valiant?

All we know for sure is that in 2379 there was a USS Valiant with a different (and higher if that matters) registry in service with Starfleet. It is just as possible that this new Valiant was not of the Defiant class as it being a Defiant.

Perhaps they spoofed registry numbers to confuse Dominion intelligence.

The ship Sisko commanded was the USS Defiant NCC-74205 which was originally named the USS Sao Paulo NCC-75633. The USS Valiant NCC-75418 was a ship of unknown class.

...Although we could argue that the registry is low enough to date back to a time when the original Valiant was still intact (it's lower than that of the Sao Paulo, at least). Which would mean they renamed an existing vessel. Which might or might not mean they repeated the Sao Paulo->Defiant trick on another more or less expendable design...

uhhh dont you mean NX-74205...not NCC...NX was a designation for experimental (prototype test bed) as a ship with NCC would have been more "main stream" and seeing as the defiant (one of my faveorit ships) was always getting fitted with new toys constantly they kept the NX designation on it...
