The STAR TREK Movies, As Ranked By STAR TREK Con-Goers

If you're going to put GQ on the list you might as well put the fan-made films and the 2-parters in TNG, VOY and DS9 on the list.

Anyway from what BADASS have said it was only 100 people from the convention. If you polled the whole convention I'm sure there would be a different result.

And like one of the 100 guys at the convention I'm actually offended that GQ was on the list.

Devin Faraci

doesnt this guy have anything better to do with his life than spend the entire time trying to shit all over nuTrek?

When I was at the Vegas Khan in 2011 the list was strikingly similar. Although Nemesis was lower on the list. Maybe audience vitriol has softened over the years for that film or maybe in a post TDKR (Rises) Tom Hardy's performance is swinging fan opinions. Star Trek 2009 ranked somewhere in the middle i think.

This, IMO, is the best way to rate Trek films.

Movie Title -- How many times I've seen it / whether or not I plan on ever watching it again.

TMP -- 10+ / possibly
TWOK -- 10+ / probably
TSFS -- 10+ / no
TVH -- 10+ / possibly
TFF -- About 5 / no
TUC -- 10+ / no

GEN -- About 5 / no
FC -- About 5 / no
INS -- 3 / no
NEM -- 1 / no

ST09 -- 2 / no
ID -- 1 / no

I think the idea of putting 09 and ID behind GEN, NEM, and FF says more about the viewer instead of the films.

Really? FF better than STiD?

Final Frontier shouldn't be last either. Jnsurrection, Generations and The Search for Spock are all far weaker films than TFF.

1. The Wrath of Khan
2. Star Trek
3. First Contact
4. The Motion Picture
5. Into Darkness
6. The Final Frontier
7. The Voyage Home
8. The Search for Spock
9. The Undiscovered Country
10. Nemesis
11. Generations

Rating STiD so low reeks of that "get off my lawn" mentality as it relates to having Khan in this movie, and probably the immensely false perception that this is somehow a rip off of TWOK when approximately 5-8 minutes of this two hour film really focuses on anything from TWOK.

I say this only because the 2009 film was ranked better.

Either way they are a tiny minority. 87% of critics liked it with 242 reviews and according to RT 91% of the RT members like it as well with well over 200,000 reviews.

Yes, it says some people like GEN, NEM, and FF more they liked 09 and ID. Beyond that, it says nothing.
My rebuttal, done for me:

How exactly is that a rebuttal? And a rebuttal of what?

Or, if I can offer a simpler explanation, fans rate it low simply because they didn't like the movie. It doesn't require any deep psychological analysis; it really is that simple.

Taste is subjective and can change over the years. I use to like Generations and hate Nemesis, now it's the other way around.

Apparently this is their list of best ST films

1. The Wrath of Khan
2. First Contact
3. The Undiscovered Country
4. The Voyage Home
5. The Search for Spock
6. Star Trek (2009)
7. Galaxy Quest (!!!)
8. Generations
9. The Motion Picture
10. Nemesis
11. Insurrection
12. The Final Frontier
13. Into Darkness
What the hell is First Contact doing at No 2 ? None of the TNG films (and I loved the show) were much good.

TMP is an overlooked gem and I'd have it at No 3 but 2009 and in particular Into Darkness are way better than they polled...

TUC used to be my favorite, but now I find it pretty mediocre.

2016: "You can't replace JJ Abrams!"
There's already a thread for that. :)

What I said simply comes from observations of what a TON of people who have disliked the movie has said.

I find it misinformed. I've lost count of the times I've read that ID is a remake of WOK or how many times I have had friends message me and ask if they should see it because they hear it was just a WOK remake.

If people want to say they dislike it for using a moment from a previous movie in this new universe that is up to them for sure. But my experience has been what I posted about.
