The publisher's website seems to have all the necessary copyright and trademark incantations and no mention of being unauthorized (which SmartPop does explicitly note on their critical and commentary titles). Plus, it'd be the biggest fan-work coup since Prelude to Axanar to get that many people who were involved with official and licensed Trek products on an unauthorized book.
