The Spirodons = a bunch of dumbasses??

So in the serial "Planet of the Daleks" the Daleks try to master invisibility - something they try to learn from Spirodons - the Spirodons rather than using their invisibility which the Daleks haven't mastered to evade them wear big furry purple covers so everyone can see them.

Am I missing something or are they just a bunch of idiots??

Well they mastered invisibilty without all the technology the Daleks have at their diposal, and they still can't seem to master it, so maybe the Spirodons just had a surplus of 1970s shag pile rugs to use. lol
