I've never liked the idea of programmes being edited/stopped because of current affairs.
Aside from the unpleasantness of media censorship, if it was one of our favourite episodes, or one that we hadn't seen, or are otherwise looking forward to watching it, then the ban would prevent us from doing so.
Life goes on, and it should do so without additional unnecessary disruption being created.

Germany tends to have real trouble doing things in moderation be it militarism of days past or enviro-pacifism in the modern era.
but never under estimate the ability for certain elements of the population to make a big stink over nothing.
There were people in the U.S demanding the Lord Of The Ring: The Two Towers be renamed. They were adamant the Two Towers was a reference to the WTC and that Liberals were denigrating the memory of those who died there.
Another article says the episodes won't be cut - they simply won't be shown, just like the episode with the WTC has been pulled on occasions in the wake of 9/11.
