The signature, classic moments/scenes of How I Met Your Mother?

Fleet Admiral
Simple enough question. What would you say are the signature moments and scenes of the show throughout the series?

Obviously, the Slap Bet comes to mind... The Sword fight... the Dopplegangers... the penis building...

I'm just looking for a few more "best of" scenes.

What would you guys say?

Barney's musical number for his suits.

The constant "eating of sandwiches" in the college flashbacks.

Robin Sparkles - Let's Go To The Mall. Marshall's Fiero that only played that Chumbawumba song. Slapsgiving is still my favorite episode.

Every moment with a yellow umbrella. The scenes with the blue French horn. I particulaly like the moment when they build the room in Ted's house up piece by piece and you realize it is the same room where Ted is telling the entire story 20 years later.

I also loved Robin and Barney's dance number from this years season premiere. Another thing that comes to mind is the moment Barney pours his heart out to Nora and her parents, and then the camera pans right to reveal Barney standing at the door to the restaurant, having been to scared to go through with it.

Marshall's Fiero that only played that Chumbawumba song.

That was the Proclaimers' "500 Miles". :)

My picks:

--Ted finding Victoria at the bakery. (I'm one of the few who thinks Ted's chemistry with her was better than with every other love interest he's had including Robin.)

--Ted and Robin finally getting together while Marshall and Lily were breaking up, with Ted returning home to find Marshall sitting outside in the rain.

--The "countdown" to the reveal of Marshall's dad passing away. On my first viewing it was obvious they were setting up SOMETHING but I had little clue what it would be until the reveal which hit me like a punch in the stomach.

That's a minority opinion? I haven't seen season seven yet, although I've spoiled a bit of it, but I'm still hoping that Ted and Victoria can have a happy ending. They were perfect for one another. Although it really won't fit at this point, unless the narration turns out to be especially unreliable.

Same here about season 7.

I distinctly remembering voicing my opinion that Ted/Victoria was a far more believable pairing than Ted/Robin and seeing what I thought was a surprising amount of dissent from Ted/Robin shippers. This was way early on in the show's run so we hadn't seen much of Ted/Robin yet. There was also another faction who thought the actress who plays Victoria is horrible and thus thought the character sucked too. I have no clue where they're coming from having not seen her in anything else--she might not be the best actress in the world but she's fine as Victoria.

Slapsgiving is my favorite "signature" moment, as well as the Yellow Umbrella and the countdown to Papa Marshall's passing.

I also loved the road trip to the pizza place, with Lily announcing "Gotta pee!" every 10 minutes. My hubby and I still joke about that on long car rides.
