Spoilers The Ship at the end of 2x03

I liked the ship design but I am still absolutely not sold on this idea that Section 31 are the "good guys". DS9, Bashir, O'Brien... it's going to take some work on the writers part to make me flip on this issue.

My issue with it looking like a shuttle is that bridge. It's 2 decks high! Not even the USS Vengeance had that and she was a mile long. Trek finally has a massive bridge and it's on... a small stealth ship?

It looks like less a bridge and more than a complete operations center, as it includes an armory and a transporter.

Indeed - this ship just doesn't have room for a smaller bridge anywhere!

It's a nice mix of the high tech and the brute force approach. An operative insertion and extraction ship would be well justified in being a pair of superbig nacelles bolted onto a shuttlebay and a transporter room, with a few control consoles for other stuff sprinkled in.

Is this mirror-surface stealth sufficient for getting Georgiou to the very heart of the Klingon Empire and literally into the Chancellor's House? Or did she get there by other means, while Boreth was an easier target?

So.... Vengeance-like black hull, a 2-story command centre, a cloaking device and variable-geometry warp nacelles (take that, USS Voyager in 120 years:lol:)

I think it's too boxy, and looks too much like a shuttlecraft. But the wings/engine nacelles opening up looked awesome.

Opinions?
looks to me exactly like the Vulcan ship which we saw in Star Trek The Motion Picture.

It kind of screams "WE'RE SPIES!" thus defeating its purpose. If I had a spy ship, it would look like a battered old ore freighter. Of course, I wouldn't have a spy ship because then I've concentrated resources all in one place to be found.

Eh, people will root for them anyway, kind of in an "AMERICA! SECTION 31! FUCK YEAH!" kind of way.
Well one of the trailers showed Georgiou fighting Burnham in the ships corridors.

Plus they’re probably the ones who kidnapped Spock based on the trailers, since he’s being carted through the same corridors.

So I really don’t think Discovery is going to make them the good guys.

I hope not. I'd love it if things lightened up, and I don't just mean figuratively. Someone turn on the lights. Everything is so dark! I want more separation between Section 31 and Starfleet. Let's see brighter ships, and let the darkness of Section 31's environment speak for them as well.

Just an observation...

From the outside, it looks a lot like a Consolidated PBY Catalina from WWII.

Yes, Eaves likes his airplnes.

The Catalina IIRC also inspired the changes he made to the Excelsior's engineering hull for the Ent-B.

Are you making a canon issue out of folding wings/nacelles? Because that's been a thing almost as long as there have been planes. I think Starfleet can master folding nacelles regardless of what era they're in. It's not something exclusive to any particular tech level.
