So, how do you think it ends for Vic?

I am going for Claudette- she is pissed about the immunity and makes sure he doesnt get away with it

I have a feeling we won't see it coming. But I'll vote for soft landing with ICE, Vic escapes all danger. Ronnie and Shane kill each other. Claudette has a nervous breakdown and is forced to retire.

But that is too mundane for the Shield....something unexpected will happen

Watching the penulimate episode I figured it out; Ronnie will shoot Vic in the face during the Beltran bust, bringing it full circle to the pilot.

Vic kills Shane and is subsequently killed by Ronnie who manages to escape clean.

Dutch's teenage psycho turns up dead at the very end, clearly a victim of Dutch.

Claudette retires.

Hmm, I like that idea. I was going to say that I could see Shane doing Vic in after he looses the baby and he's all cracked out or something.

Corrine does it. she is so damned scared of Vic she gets a gun to protect herself, and Vis goes over to tell her about the new job after the big bust and she give him a bullet in the eye. Or maybe he gets hit by a car and dies.

[Clue Mode] Claudette in the Clubhouse with the revolver. [/Clue Mode]

What's great about the way they've set up this finale is that most of those people could plausibly kill Vic without it feeling contrived - Kavanough being the sole exception for me, because they've done nothing to imply his return. I don't think that's the kind of twist they would drop on us in the finale. Every twist they've given us so far has been set up in advance.

Dutch is highly unlikely, but I could see him possibly doing it because a) he's smart enough that he could probably find a way to get away with it, and b) he might do it if he thought it would help Claudette because he's that dedicated to her. I think Dutch's story in the finale is going to primarily hinge around Serial Killer Lad trying or succeeding at killing his mother, though, and Dutch deciding that enough is enough and forcing a confrontation.

Maybe Dutch not being there and helping Claudette focus will be her undoing and the reason she breaks down and kills Vic (if that happens). Without her rock there she might completely lose it, since he was still able to reach her after she broke down and "fired" him in the last episode.

I get the strong impression in the next to last episode that ICE is so disgusted and repulsed by Vic (and shocked that they made that kind of deal) that they aren't going to cover Vics back if things go sour.

I think Ronnie will snap once he finds out Vic betrayed him. Ronnie takes out Vic.

Claudette has a nervous break down and croaks.

I don't think Dutch boy is going to make it either. I think he'll try to help serial killer's mom and the kid does him in.

Shane dies somehow. If this show has any justice Shane has to die. I can't stand that guy.

Actually, there could be a lot of death in this episode if my predictions come true.

This is The Shield

There is NO WAY that Vic is getting the cummupance he deserves. I just can't see him dying.

I am sure Vic will live, but will have to deal with the horrendous emotional fallout of his decisions.

He's my theory (all conjecture, no spoilers):

Shane will be killed in crossfire between Vic/Ronnie/Mara... Mara's "thrill" of being on the run will get the better of them all. Her kid is taken into custody and will give birth in prison. The man he betrayed (Ronnie) will then immediately attempt to kill Vic, but Vic will get the drop on him.

ICE will go back on their deal after there are multiple casualties at the bust. Vic has to go on the run, never to see anyone again.

Vic's daughter will accidentally OD when she finds out her mom has betrayed her dad, and her dad has betrayed everyone never to come back, falling back into her rebellious ways.

Dutch will be killed by the mother.

Claudette will have a breakdown and will be taken care of by her sister

Aceveda will come out smelling of roses, become Mayor and help redefine the LA police department with the Commissioner.

This is The Shield - very few will come out well.

Cue ominous tone -- Vic always gets away with it....

The deal with ICE is what will keep out of jail, it will be some kind of legal mumbo jumbo because Vic confessed under the terms of the deal, if the deal is voided then Vics confession would be inadmissible in court, *that is what will sink Claudette for good.

Aceveda is a major wild card still in play, Shane not so much anymore, but definitley Aceveda. The big prize is the capture of the Cartel. Vic needs it to stay out of trouble and Aceveda needs it to become the Mayor. I don't know how he will play into the mix, but I bet he has a significant part in the action.

Mara doesn't like the thrill-ride-on-the-run thing anymore. After she got shot said told Shane to "take her home..." I am not sure what else is going on with Shane. He needs the money which will result in the take down attempt. That might happen early on to end the Shane story so they can finish the Cartel story. That is why I think Shane and Ronnie will take each other out.

I wish Dutch was more into it, his story is so light this season. I know they have to focus on Vic, but usually Dutch has better stuff going on. I can't see him taking down Vic, because there has been no build up this season of that. Dutch and Vic haven't done enough together this season to warrant him in the action. They might jsut wrap up Dutch with the Mom and Lloyd thing. Maybe Dutch tries to get the kid somehow and Dutch has to do something illegal and he gets busted! That would be a twist, but still in character for Dutch.

Man I love this show!

I don't get how Vic could have possibly confessed to everything illegal he ever did. He's been into so much shit over the years that snowballed into bigger shit and lots of people getting killed. Realistically, there has to be something initially innocuous or penny ante he forgot to confess to that could link him to some nasty shit he might not even be aware of. Now that ICE knows just who he is, they'll be busting their asses to dig up anything on him which gets them around the deal - if the Beltran takedown goes as planned, and Vic doesn't bite it, that is.

As for that, this better not be some Tony Soprano "fade to black and he's dead" bullshit. They want me to buy the DVD set of this season, Vic better end up the most shunned, lonely and despised ICE agent ever. I haven't watched seven-odd years of Vic Machiavelli winning out against all odds just to see him die in the final scene.

Besides ... dying is easy.

Wow.

To paraphrase a great swordsman...

"I do not think that scene means what you think it means"

You are right though - death IS too easy for someone like Vic Mackey

Hugo - Why does everyone like that asshole so much?
