The Sheliak

Hey guys,

Just to let you know, a designer on another forum I am a part of modeled out a fleet for the Sheliak, named Atolm. Bear in mind that these were done ages ago, and for a 10-year-old game. Also, the textures were done in MSPaint, but still you get the idea.

They really got their mileage out of the old Merchantman miniature. Looking at the Sheliak here, it seems like he's made of a fabric with a reflective pattern. I also didn't remember that last shot where it makes it seem like the Sheliak are much larger than humanoids Picard and Troi.

The alien design itself is pretty cool. I have no idea what they are though...ominous! Could it be Future Guy!!?

I always had trouble taking the costume seriously. As mentioned above it reminded me too much of Armus. I still think the Horta is the best non-humanoid species Star Trek has pulled off thus far.

I would have enjoyed seeing the Sheliak on ENTERPRISE. Then again knowing B&B they probabley WOULD have screwd it up anyway A real shame, because I have always thought the Sheliak had a lot of potential!
