The Shat Bitch Slaps Director

Admiral James Kirk

I don't know if the video Shatner Loses it in Recording Studio has ever been posted here. In it the Shat is recording a voice over when the director starts giving him so incredibly stupid directions. So Shatner bitch slaps him the most professional and hilarious way possible. This video is bound to become a classic on par with the Orson Welles Frozen Peas videos.

Enjoy! :techman:

shatner sounded like he did it perfectly on the second take. it should have ended there. the rest was the director or whoever was being annoying quite honestly

I love that audio clip, but I think it's YouTube title is a misnomer. At no point does Shatner "lose it." He's completely in control the whole time, and either he can spend all day doing something that should take an hour or he can take this noob for a ride around the block. I've heard a lot of negative stories about the Shatman over the years, whether first hand, or in print or on tv or what ever. Idon't know that he's a jerk, but after this clip, I think he just doesn't suffer bull#%^* gladly.

I don't get it? When I play the clip, I get grey screen at first, and then a solid picture, no moving picture? I clicked on the link to go to Youtube, but, same result, and then I click on another link there at Youtube and it moves?

It's an audio clip with just a still photo. That's all.

And I almost felt sorry for that guy after Shatner was through with him, especially after tricking him up and making him say he didn't know what he wanted.

Ah...[light-bulb on] turn on the audio and don't look for a picture [/light-bulb] :alienblush:

I was expecting to see a literal Bitchslap from Shatner. Thanks for the heads up, gotta switch computers for audio :(

LOL Adm. James Kirk, I would expect nothing less from you after you go bitch slapping the help

ETA: OMG, that was hilarious. And the way he just kept showing how cooperative he was and the director just kept feeling like he getting smaller and smaller. It was like watching that Voyager Episode, where the Doctor shrinks :devil: :guffaw:

Where is the audio outtakes from the animated series where he said, "Don't correct me! It sickens me." I know there's outtakes of him pronouncing "sabotaage" for the 25th Anniversary video game, but I've never heard the outtakes from the animated series.

I've never heard of these. I'd very much like to. Anyone have a link? :D

I beg to differ w/ the majority opinion here. His first reading was rather perfunctory and drawling, but it sounded like Shatner. So, the director tried to get him to read it in a more upbeat fashion, w/ more emphatic phrasing.

So, Shat did it again exactly how the director demonstrated, but then he got huffy and pompous and browbeat him. I thought the director should have stood his ground instead of wilting under the Shat's imperiousness. Either that, or acknowledge that the Shat is known quantity, and the client maybe didn't want a more dynamic reading.

There were three takes. The first take was as you described it "perfunctory and drawling". However, the second, more upbeat take was perfect. Shatner absolutely nailed it. There was no reason for a third take. However that nimrod decided to do a line reading for Shatner.

A fucking droning, monotone, amateurish line reading at that.

Shatner's third take was exactly what the director asked for. He parroted him exactly. Again, the director didn't like the take, even though it was what he asked for.

What, pray tell was Shatner to do? Was he supposed to spend twelve hours recording the opening while the director fiddle-fucked around trying to figure out what he wanted?

I, for one, think Shatner was more than diplomatic in the way he handled that guy.

I stand corrected that it was the third take in which Shat mimicked the director. If the director wanted the rest done in that style, Shat didn't need to hear the director read each line first. He knew what the director wanted, and should have just done it. In that situation, the director is boss, no matter what we think of Shat (or what he thinks of himself). However, Shat sensed that the guy was weak, and pounced on him.

I was expecting a Bale-style rant from the comments. The director was a dbag and Shatner was yanking his chain.
