Hi, folks. If you haven't been checking out the TOS boards or other online forums, you may not know the hurt/heal game. Basically, this is a fun way to participate in a daily game to rank your favorite TNG episodes. Here's how it works:
- First, the season contests: all episodes from a season are listed, and each begins with 10 points.
- Each member, per calendar day, must:
- "Heal" an episode (add one point to it) + 1
- "Hurt" an episode (subtract two points from it) - 2
- For the game to work, you must both heal an episode and hurt an episode.
- When an episode reaches 0 points, it is eliminated. In a season of 24 episodes, the first episode eliminated would then be ranked 24th, the second episode 23rd, etc. etc.
- In each post, please copy and paste the list; indicate which episodes you hurt and healed (using bold text and +/- signs), and update the score. For a useful example, see the hurt/heal game in the TOS forum.
- Remember: One vote per calendar day per member.
- After the season contests are finished, the top 8 from each season (56 episodes in total) will enter the final showdown.
Miscellany
- Yes, I realize this may not yield a "perfect" top 50, since some seasons will have more great episodes than others. It's just a fun way to root for your favorite episodes.

- I am counting all two-parters as two separate episodes, INCLUDING the premiere and the finale (because otherwise the two-hour series beginning and ending would have something of an unfair advantage, and also for the sake of my semi-OCD
).
- Remember, the more you participate (up to once a day) the more you influence the final outcome.
