The Secret Circle(The CW) *Spoilers*

Did I completely forget what happened last episode? Where was Melissa during this retreat? Nobody mentions her a single time unless I blinked and missed something.

Other than that, I enjoyed this episode, except for Cassie's poor grandma, because the mind-wipe thing is just too much of an echo for that particular actress after Heroes.

Her parents(?) were concerned about her(emotional well being) do to Nick's death...so that is why she wasn't around.

Okay, thanks. I completely missed that. Still think it's kind of weird and hopefully it doesn't mean she'll get sidelined in general or anything.

Melissa is by far the weakest link in the group, so I don't mind her not being around. I'd actually be cool with them getting rid of her, honestly, though I don't see that happening. At least, not so soon after they got rid of Nick. Her absence was probably because the actress was busy with another role, so they wrote around her for this episode. It happens.

Speaking of which, I'm glad they wrote Nick out, because Jake is a far more interesting character. Sure, he's a smarmy douche, but so was Nick. At least Jake has the whole witch hunter thing going for him. Plus it seems like the actor has much better chemistry with Britt Robertson than Thomas Dekker does, so maybe they'll ease off on that whole Cassie/Adam thing now.

Still don't really care about the teenage relationship parts of the show, but everything else has remained intriguing enough to keep me watching. I was a little curious as to why Charles didn't seem to have a problem murdering Amelia Blake when he was so conflicted about Nick's death, but now with this whole John Blackwell thing, maybe Amelia's relationship with Blackwell was seen as some sort of betrayal by the rest of her circle, so Charles didn't feel so guilty about blowing her up.

Yeah I'm not a huge fan of Melissa, I just don't want all this danger to be going on and for Melissa to not be able to perform magic by herself and the show writing around her absence when it would make more sense for her to be with the group if they're in danger from multiple sources. It takes me out of the show a little.

The Secret Circle Season 1 Episode 9 “Balcoin” Description. Tonight at 9PM on The CW!

FAYE STIRS UP TROUBLE FOR CASSIE AND JAKE --- Cassie (Britt Robertson) and Jake (guest star Chris Zylka) look into her father's side of the family, hoping to discover more about her lineage and why she has powers separate from the Circle. Meanwhile, Adam (Thomas Dekker) becomes protective of Cassie when Faye (Phoebe Tonkin) reveals that Jake might be hiding something dangerous from them. At the same time, Adam's equally concerned when Melissa's (Jessica Parker Kennedy) cousin Holden (guest star Arlen Escarpeta) comes to town and catches Diana's (Shelley Hennig) eye. A power shift forms between Charles (Gale Harold) and Dawn (Natasha Henstridge) that threatens to destroy their plan. Brad Turner directed the episode written by Andrew Miller & Andrea Newman (#109).

I am excited to see what happens...big thing is Cassie isn't the only one with dark magic...who is related to her? Awesome ep! :D

Has to be Faye, right? I mean Cassie's grandmother suggested her mom had a thing with Cassie's dad, so they might be half-sisters. That's my guess right now. Anyway, really fun episode, although I sort of wonder why Jake left with the witch hunters. Having betrayed them, you'd think he'd be worth a lot less. I was half-expecting him to jump off the boat. But maybe the hunters are hoping to win him back over to their cause completely with the new information.

I think Faye is the obvious choice, which is why I don't think it's her. We know it can't be Jake (because of the ick factor), or Adam or Diana (because we know who their fathers are). I think they added that little mention about Faye's mother having a thing for John Blackwell back in the day intentionally, as a sort of misdirection. So if it's not Faye, then that leaves...Melissa. Which, eh, I guess would be okay. She's the only character who desperately needs something interesting to happen to them.

I have to admit, I'm enjoying this show more than I thought I would. It started out kind of bland, but it's gotten pretty interesting in the last few episodes.

okay so the vampire diaries are on a break, is the secret circle all so on a break as well?

What? :wtf: Try reading the previous page(page 10) starting at post #146...I already explained it.

Not sure if I woill be on here before the ep airs...

[PREVIEW CON ANDREW MILLER] 1X10 DARKNESS -The Secret Circle

:) Looking forward to this!

Looking forward to the return of this and The Vampire Diaries tonight.

Pretty good ep...these eps seem a bit slow at times but they always pick up toward the end. Cassie is AWESOME!

Next week looks interesting. :bolian:

Diane's grandma is a whackjob...and quite sexy for her age. NO UGLY FOLKS ON THIS SHOW.

Would Faye and Melissa just have sex and get it over with?

Henstridge never played Mystique.
I thought this was a pretty good episode myself. I'm curious where they're going with Cassie's whole fall to the dark side story line.
I think we can safely say it's a very bad idea to piss off Cassie.

The Secret Circle Episode 11 “Fire/Ice”

FAYE'S QUEST FOR POWER THREATENS THE CIRCLE --- Cassie (Britt Robertson) asks Adam (Thomas Dekker) for help when she wants to look into her father's past, and their search leads them to an eerily familiar place. It also rekindles an old flame when Adam, thrilled to be spending time with Cassie again, asks her to the Fire and Ice dance. But because of her friendship with Diana (Shelley Hennig) Cassie is forced to give a surprising response. In an effort to be a better father, Ethan (Adam Harrington) offers to chaperone the dance, much to Adam's dismay. Faye (Phoebe Tonkin) asks Lee (guest star Grey Damon) to help her with a spell that would grant her individual magic. Unfortunately, the spell has some terrifying side effects that nearly destroy the Circle. Jessica Parker Kennedy also stars. Joshua Butler directed the episode written by Holly Henderson & Don Whitehead (#111).
