I know no one will care about this show here but since it has been ordered to pilot and casting has started...

About The Books.
The Secret Circle is a young adult fantasy romance series of novels written by L. J. Smith. The story revolves around Cassie, a shy sixteen-year-old, who discovers that she is a witch and becomes a member of the Circle of witches of New Salem. She must face the hatred of Faye, one of the witches; her new loyalty to Diana, her best friend and the leader of the Circle; and her love for Adam, Diana's boyfriend.

TV Series.
The L.J. Smith project, coming from Alloy Entertainment, is Secret Circle. It is about a California teen who moves to her mom’s hometown of New Salem and learns that she is a witch. Whedon writers Elizabeth Craft and Sarah Fain are adapting this one with a pilot script coming from Andrew Miller, who will also be an executive producer.

On October 28, 2010 L.J. Smith announced that the series has been optioned for a TV series by The CW.

-On February 8, 2011, The CW picked up The Secret Circle with Dawson's Creek creator and The Vampire Diaries co/creator/executive producer Kevin Williamson now attached. However, The Vampire Diaries companion series he was helming has been put on hold for the time being as he does not have enough time for it, he told The CW.[1]
-Williamson worked on an original script penned by Andrew Miller, creator of the Emmy-nominated web series Imaginary Bitches, with writer credit shared by both men.[2]
-On February 16th, 2011, The Secret Circle booked Liz Friedlander to direct the pilot. Friedlander also directed episodes for The Vampire Diaries, Pretty Little Liars and 90210.[3]
-On February 17th, 2011, it was announced that Britt Robertson was cast in the pilot. Shortly after the announcement of the casting, it was revealed that she will play Cassie.[4

The only reason I am interested in this now more so when I first heard about it...my original thread; http://www.trekbbs.com/showthread.php?t=130840 is because of the Britt Robertson casting. I enjoyed her on Life Unexpected & in the film Triple Dog. I am hoping TSC gets picked up by The CW...mainly because of Britt. :D I enjoy The Vampire Diaries and although I am not into witches and magic...I can see this following in TVD footsteps.

I've been following the progress of this show...interesting. This has a hope of being good with Kevin Williamson on board. Britt Robertson is cute and the premise seems interesting.
 
Is Shelly still on Days...I could have sworn I saw that actress on there this week...I usually don't watch Days but Melanie Layton is HOT!!! :drool:
 
The Secret Circle was picked up and added to The CW schedule...it will be on Thursdays at 9 PM after The Vampire Diaries. :)

That's an interesting time slot for it...but logical. The Vampire Diaries are the network's strongest show so I guess they have high hopes for "The Secret Circle". I'll at least check out the pilot.
