The scariest episode of Star Trek?

TNG: Schisms

Alien abduction stories have always hit a nerve with me and scared me ever since I was a kid. I don't know why.

TOS - Cat's Paw. The witches chanting Kirk's name was spooky.
TNG - Frame of Mind was scary.
Phantasms and the one where they all deevolved - Braga at his creepiest
DS9 was one big horror show.
Distant Voices was a retelling of Frame of mind with a monster in it stalking Bashir.
VGR - Species 847 were spooky and scary and the hirogen were nasty.
ENT - the direction the characters were going in was scary. Vulcan zombies. eh..

TNG's Night Terrors.

I'm over 30 years old, and still look away when all those dead bodies sit up straight as Crusher's examining them!

TNG Night Terrors - an obvious choice.

TNG Time Squared - though just a Trek time travel story, this one creeeeeped me out big time. Very effective.

Schisms is an easy choice. Frame of Mind definitely had an unsettling feeling about it, and so did Night Terrors. Identity Crisis was kind of creepy, too.

Not the episode, but the scene where you see a woman fumbling her way around a corner then you realise. she. hasn't. got. a. face!

Scared me half to death :eek:

The best of both worlds is among the scariest trek, the borg are fucking relentless in that episode. The captain being abducted was genuinely creepy, the way they just barge in and decapitate the entire ship. TNG era borg were absolutely horrible.

Schisms, Night Terrors, Frame of Mind, Identity Crisis, and to a somewhat lesser extent Time Squared and Where Silence Has Lease all have a wonderfully creepy and somewhat unsettling feel to them - more so than even a lot of horror movies.

Janeway's split personalities throughout Voyager were pretty disturbing.

TNG Conspiracy, where Picard and Riker melt that guy's face off with phasers. Scary awesome.

Violations can do it for me. Something about not just the reliving of bad memories but also the idea of someone coming at you through your dreams, in your sleep, where you're most vulnerable... *shudders* Eesh.

These are the ones which get my vote (despite the fact that I can watch them unflinchingly, and not hide behind the sofa)
TNG: Conspiracy, Where Silence Has Lease, Night Terrors, Identity Crisis, Violations (even though Beverly screaming like a little girl was unintentionally hilarious), Schisms
DS9: Empok Nor
VOY: Faces, this is one necessarily scary per se but more f*cked up the way that the Vidiian scientist kills that goldshirt and grafts his face on. It's just not something we expect from a prime-time TV show. Plus, it really gives us the impression of how 'alien' the Vidiians are in their way of thinking. The Thaw, One.
ENT: Fight or Flight. I can't blame Hoshi for screaming like a 12 year old when she saw those aliens hung up on meathooks with their bodily juices drained out!

TNG's Night Terrors.

I'm 28. I'm rewatching TNG on Netflix with the wife. We skipped this one.
