I dont think single episode are going to generate enough for inviudal threads, so one for the whole series.

Prisoner of the Judoon

The Judoon are back in Doctor Who, this makes me happy, and Officer Tybo provides many of the great moments in this episode, anything with Tybo in the police car was great, however before this the show seemed to be in danger of taking itself to seriously, but it does look better filmed in HD, shame the same can not be said for the CGI, which I thought was poor.

I enjoyed ES preformance as the escaped alien it was enjoyable, and kinda creepy, shame the same can not be said for Ranis parents.

Over all I give it a 3.5/5

Ive always found it difficult to judge Part 1s of 2 part episodes, kinda though the next time on was very spoilery however.

This is just so you can have the first post, isn't it?

Ahem, anyway, repeating what I said in the other thread:

Ahahahahahahaha!

That was hilarious - I want a "Captain TiBo on Earth" series *right fucking now* He's fantastic! Co-operation! The whole police car thing! I love it! (even if I keep thinking of Billy Blanks every time they say his name)

OTOH, Gita is more annoying than I remember her being from last season, and the camerawork when the regulars were all gathered round Sarah's car at the start was terrible, like the camera guy was seasick and trying to make us seasick too.

One spoilerific thing though,

Lis Sladen pretty much falls victim to McIntee's First Law of Acting - that a performer will, when called upon to play an evil alternate/possessed version of his or her usual character, forget how to act and start hamming it and playing it for laughs. However, this makes her sexier on account of the change in body language, so I'll let her off with it this time.

sorry it took me ages to write this thread, as I was talking SJA on GB at the same time.

I guess this shows how little I know about acting, but I honestly thought Lis Sladen was creepy.

Dude. What were you thinking? You know TrekBBS is superiour to GB in every way. Tsk tsk.

Watching Sladen try to act evil was just horrific. But hot damn if it didn't mix with the jacket she had on and make it sexy.

to be far the SJA forum is different to the main GB Doctor Who forums.

Boy its gonna be a rough weekend. My usual 'alternate method' site for getting SJA and Who has gone belly up. Gonna be hitting the search engines hard.

Oh yeah the jacket and the boots were a fab combo, very Gwen Cooper (or perhaos Gwen is very Sarah Jane?)

That was fun! No seasick camerawork this time, thankfully. Gita seems to be written as Chrissie this year...

Lis Sladen's "possessed" performance started off horribly with the ranting, but actually got good from the "destroy Earth" line as she got a grip on a sort of reptilian take on the part. Sexy too, what with the leather jacket, tight jeans, boots, tongue...

Oh, and the direction was nice- I liked how, when the other Judoon found Tybo, you could tell exactly what they were saying...

Ahem.

Anyway, good fun, and easily the best season opener so far, sneaky plug for Dreamland included...

enjoyed the Dreamland reference, cant wait to see that.

Luke is such a genius, I have previously said that he should be a companion, but based on todays episode, I think he is step beyond the companion role. Cant wait to see him & the Doctor together.

I did think that the Judoon was sticking to the rules a bit too much, if he does not see humans as worthwhile, why is he so bothering about obeying all our rules?

I love this new format. No week long waits to find out what happens next! Not sure what to think of Clyde's new intro though.

Liz is great, but lord her Gollum impression started to wear on my nerves fairly quickly (not as quickly as her weekly 'the universe is a wonderful place' speach, but close). I guess some actors just can't do 'evil' very well. At least of the 'slightly ott' variety. I'm glad we got to see more of the actual aline at the end. I really liked that look. Quite dinosaur-ish.

So, whats going to stop the owner of the nonotech firm from suing the hell out of Sarah Jane for property damages?

And boy, if the BBC isn't licensing Captain TiBo plushies even as we speak, they're nuts. Hell I'd buy one, I loved the big guy. Please bring him back someday.

Aww c'mon, those bits were great! Obviously 'obey all rules' is a basic instinct imprinted on their brains. At least he didn't try to shoot the kids over the 'Authorized Personnel Only' thing.

I hope your using that quote out of context the Doctor is over 1,000 years old, and Luke is about 3.

Both actors are legal. And yummy. :bolian:
even then Tennat is twice the age of Knight.

You should join the GB SJA forums, there are plenty of people on there that think as you do.

No, thanks. The difference is, I'm not being serious. Some of the stuff I've seen on the net is kind of ... um ... bleh.

Given that both previous seasons have brought the alien from the first story back in the last, I'd be amazed if this season was different!

OTOH, that might just mean bringing the Veil guy back instead.

its possible, but we do know that the Balthreen are going to be in the series finale, so I would not say that it WILL happen 100% officially confirmed, but it could.
