The rewatch is going well...

Its a rewatch for me. Husband is seeing a lot of these episodes for the first time because during its original run he had work obligations or something...we can't remember exactly but there was a legitimate reason he couldn't keep up. He told me that he likes it and we sometimes watch two episodes at a time. Right now we are in the middle of season 3. He has these funny rules when we go through a series. I am not allowed to make any comments about anything 'behind the scenes' until the episode is finished because he says that interferes with his enjoyment of the show. I can however point out things like "Garak directed this one!"

Each episode gets a nickname. Macrocosm is "Janeway Goes Sarah Connor'. Blood Fever is " B'Elanna discovers Tom is a good guy'. Fair Trade is "Where Neelix doesn't get kicked off the ship." Threshold is "The One she made me skip'. :p I wish I could remember the earlier ones but from now on I'm going to keep a record.

Anyway...going well. No complaints so far.

I liked the end of Fair Trade. Him not being able to get away from her frankness. haha.
Sarah Connor. I haven't heard that one. Always an "Alien" reference.

I am over due for a rewatch. I tend to watch random episodes rather than linear. I'll be honest, I only watch ones I really like and they're getting boring so time to watch the so-so ones. I think I'll go watch season 2 all the way through since there's some continuity.

Ive just finished my most recent rewatch. I know it's too soon to start again. But I want to.

Must. Stay. Strong. And. Wait.

My Voyager rewatch came to a stop for some weeks due to some events in "the gray world" which is my nickname for the reality I live in when I don't watch Voyager.

To be honest, the "Lien affair" were close to finally take away my interest of the series. However, old habits are hard to stop with. :)

Since my rewatch usually ends with "Worst Case Scenario", I'm close to the end. I will watch "Darkling" which is one of my favorite episodes on Saturday or Sunday.

If I'm in a good mood, I might end my Voyager journey with an old VHS-taped episode from season 4, "Nemesis" which is actually a great Chakotay episode. I don't have season 4-7 on DVD.

I bought my season 1-3 Voyager DVD:s in 2006 and they are still working perfect, unlike the Deep Space Nine DVD:s I bought last year where some of the episodes were unwatchable already the first time and some became unwatchable after one viewing.

Favorite Son....the one where Harry becomes a fake Trill and some strange women seem to find that attractive.

Before and After-No funny title but some mumbling about River Song and the 11th Doctor. Your Future has become my past!

Real Life-No funny subtitle for this one...although the Klingons and the "River of Blood' thing both merited a good laugh.

I re-watched The Gift a week or so ago. I thought of you recently saying that you won't watch it again.
I think as a Kes fan it's still worth watching. Kes has a pretty major role and Lien does a great job, we see Kes's mysterious powers growing, Kes's willingness to explore the unknown and embrace her uncertain fate, the great love that Kes and the crew have for each other. I thought her final scenes with Tuvok and Janeway were both touching.
I hope that someday you give the episode another chance, if only to give another viewing to one of the few strong episodes Kes got.

"The Gift" is still one of my absolute favorite episodes. It's a great intro to Seven of Nine while also being a good sendoff for Kes.

I just wish we got to learn more about what happened to Kes. Her return in "Fury" was both an insult to the character and ultimately a giant waste of time. She transformed into a magical ball of light only to return a few years later as a cranky old lady in a crappy spaceship.

The String Theory books explain that. I wish they were canon. :sigh:

I haven't read any Trek Lit in over a decade, and I'm probably not going to start again any time soon.

I love the String Theory trilogy.
As far as I'm concerned it is canon, as are the new Voyager relaunch novels. They can be real if you want them to be, and why not? It seems pretty unlikely anything will contradict them, except possibly the online Trek game, which can exist in it's own real continuity too.

I can understand that. I stopped reading for a long time and have just now picked them up again.

True. I think I'll probably go with this. It happened...its real. ;)

Distant Origin-'That woman is evil in two different civilizations!"

I have found that he is more aware than I am of the actors who have been in the other series...even when they are covered with latex.

Displaced-'Why didn't they put the aliens in a cargo bay and turn up the lights and turn down the temperature?'

Worst Case Scenario-The Episode that should have happened in Season 1.

Maybe I'll write a steamy love scene between the Star Fleet Con Officer and the Maquis Engineer.
Like that's Realistic.

Didn't we see that just a couple of episodes ago?

Scorpion....this is the first time he saw the complete story of how Seven came to be aboard the ship.

The Gift- the complete story told of how Harry was supposed to die/fifty beautiful people/have to get rid of Kes instead...."WORST REASON EVER" to get rid of an actor.

Day of Honor-should be called "B'Elanna's Bad Day'. Ending was nice...he likes Tom. Thinks he's funny.
