First, it was Full House.

Then, it was Will & Grace.

Roseanne is next.

Mad About You might return, too.

Now it's Murphy Brown's turn.
CBS has given a 13-episode, series production commitment to a current day revival of the Network’s classic comedy MURPHY BROWN from Warner Bros. Television for the 2018-2019 broadcast season, it was announced today by Kelly Kahl, President, CBS Entertainment, and Thom Sherman, Senior Executive Vice President, Programming, CBS Entertainment.

Candice Bergen, who starred in the title role from 1988-1998, will reprise her role. As its 30th anniversary approaches, MURPHY BROWN returns to a world of cable news, social media, fake news and a very different political and cultural climate.
Of all of the recent revivals, this one actually makes the most sense. Seeing Murphy Brown's take on today's news and political climate, particularly "fake news" and "alternative facts," could potentially be very amusing.

For some strange reason I recently had a feeling this would happen. I was watching a repeat while I was home sick from work a couple of weeks ago, even though I haven't watched the show in many many years. And I remember thinking, "it's only a short matter of time before they bring this one back..." I'm not exactly excited, but I've certainly heard of more far-fetched comebacks.

YES!!!!!!

The title of this topic should be 'MURPHY BROWN IS RETURNING!!!!!!!!!'

Can you tell I'm excited?!
Nahhhhh!

I haven't watched the show since it went off the air, and I don't think I ever saw the finale, but I do remember loving the show when I did watch. I hope they're able to bring back the whole cast, including Lily Tomlin.

Word. I'm thrilled about the news. I remember about them talking about this some years back. Glad that this has panned out.

I hope that they can. They were awesome. I'm glad that Diane English is involved along with Candice Bergen. It should be pretty good.

First person I thought of was Lily Tomlin, even though she was added later. But I think Grace and Frankie might prevent that.

I hope we can get Boston legal back.

Looking at the recurring cast list, I forgot about some actors who were on the show and, of those still alive, that could possibly come back: Jane Leeves, Scott Bakula, Wallace Shawn, Christopher Rich. Heck, I'd love to see them get Haley Joel Osment back as Avery.

As long as they continue the secretarial rotation...

Somebody's going to wake up from a coma they've been in since the 90's and be like, "So, what shows are on TV now?"

Still surprised nobody has thought of doing That 90s Show yet. Or maybe they have thought of it but the actors they need said no?

Trying to think of other logical shows to bring back. Home Improvement is a sitcom from the 90s people are still nostalgic for, don't know if Tim Allen would be remotely interested.

Family Matters could have Steve and Laura have nerdy genius kids and capitalize on the Big Bang-verse audience.
