The Real Ghostbusters!

I recently watched the first couple of episodes, and thought they were pretty stupid. I think that I need to fast-forward to the part where the writing gets good.

There's a Starlog article from the period in which J. Michael Straczynski literally apologizes for the first two episodes, saying that they hadn't yet figured out how far they could push the envelope beyond the usual Saturday morning cartoon formula of the day.

You talking about in reruns?

Because on the original runs, Channel 15 wasn't Fox yet.

Sorry, I've just been hit with a giant pedantry bug today. ;)

This would have been around 1988-'89. Where does that fit in the timeline?

It fits into my big BRAIN FART!

Ch. 15 became Fox 15 in '86 or '87, which means you were right, of course.

For some reason I read your comment and mentally inserted "Fox 10" (the current network/channel combo) where you wrote "Fox15", even though I even directly quoted you by typing "15" instead of what I was thinking, which was "10".

Fox of course switched from Ch. 15 to Ch. 10 in (IIRC) 1995.

I miss Wallace and Ladmo. :( (I know, I know, that was Channel 5!)

I'm glad there's someone else around here who recalls the minutae of Phoenix's great TV network switch of 1995.:)

Sadly, I'd never really gotten into Wallace & Ladmo. Back when they were on, I was never awake that early. I think I saw one of their live shows at the ASU Activity Center (now Wells Fargo Arena) but that's about it.

Egon finally broke Janine free of the ghost's control by admitting that he loved her and always had, even before the changes. (Unfortunately this major step forward in their relationship was ignored by the Extreme Ghostbusters sequel series in 1997.)

I've found some Egon/Janine fan music videos online. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c5k0DZZK6FY It's really weird seeing such a serious, heavy song accompanying such a comparatively frothy cartoon series.
